Usage totals now say whether their cost was billed by the provider or estimated.

  • Provider-billed cost flag: usage.cost.totalFromProvider is true only when every summed part, including nested tool-call and compaction totals, carries a provider-reported billed cost, and false for catalog estimates and older sessions (#3852)

Added

  • Added usage.cost.totalFromProvider to usage totals. Summed usage, including nested tool-call and compaction totals, reports true only when every part was a provider-reported billed cost; catalog-estimated and legacy sessions without the field report false.
  • Added Usage.cost.totalFromProvider. It is true when cost.total is the billed cost reported by the provider and false when the total is estimated from the model's catalog rates, as calculateCost() and the image generators now record. A missing value, as in sessions recorded before this field existed, means false.

Changed

  • install.sh and install.ps1 no longer re-download Atomic when the requested release (or the latest release, when none is requested) is already installed and healthy. They print atomic <tag> is already installed; skipping download, keep the Installed to line and PATH guidance, and download nothing; on Windows a rerun also restores a missing User PATH entry. A different version, or a missing or broken launcher, current pointer (including one that points at a versions directory outside the install root), shim, or payload (including a missing app.js or other startup file), installs and repairs as before. Pass --force (-Force on Windows) or set ATOMIC_FORCE_INSTALL=1 to reinstall anyway.
