Head over to the releases page and download the latest version. Unzip the file, then right-click it and press "Open". You'll see a popup stating that your computer couldn't verify the file and it will prompt you to move the file to trash.

Instead, press "Done" and head over to System Settings > Privacy and Security. Scroll to the bottom of the page, where you should see an alert that allows you to open the app.
While you're here, I recommend setting your computer to allow applications from the App Store and Known Developers to make your future life easier.Now you can head to your control centre settings and remove the default icon from the menu bar. Then, you can hold command and drag the iOS battery icon over to where the old icon was.
