Can't connect Mini E3 to Windows 10 PC

I'm trying to compile and upload to the Mini E3 through USB but I get an error "STM32F103RC_bigtree FAILED". Seems the driver didn't install properly? In device manager under Ports it shows USB Serial Device. In properties under events Device install requested shows "requires further installation". I was previously editing the firmware by saving, compiling in Atom and copy and pasting the firmware.bin onto the sd. Now for whatever reason it isn't updating the firmware.bin file when saving and compiling.

The driver isn't digitally signed, you have to disable driver signature checking in windows 10 before you can install the Maple usb serial driver.
