Release list
v1.9.6
- Keyboard selection in the popover: with the filter field focused, ↑/↓ select a desktop and Return switches to it; typing a filter selects the first match.
- Ctrl+N hint: the popover explains that ⌃1–⌃9 jump straight to a desktop from any app and shows the key for the selected desktop.
- Reset Dock button: restarts the Dock when ⌃1–⌃9 or desktop switching stop working. Windows and desktops are kept.
- Fix: pressing ⌃N while the popover is open no longer jumps back to the previous desktop.
Signed with Developer ID and notarized by Apple.
v1.9.5
Fix: choosing a desktop, or moving a window across several desktops, no longer overshoots the chosen desktop. Each Ctrl+Left/Right press is now planned from the desktop that is actually active, so slow desktop switches can't add extra steps.
Signed with Developer ID and notarized by Apple.
v1.9.4
Fixes for macOS 27:
- Choosing a desktop from the workspace popover or the menu no longer beeps and does nothing; desktops on the active display are reached with Ctrl+Left/Right steps.
- Move Window no longer stops part-way when moving a window across several desktops.
Signed with Developer ID and notarized by Apple.
v1.9.3
Jumpee v1.9.2 — Move Window on macOS 27, popover shortcuts
What's fixed
- Move Window works again on macOS 27. The focused window is now resolved through the target application's own Accessibility element (the system-wide query fails on macOS 27), the destination menu no longer closes by itself, and the window is dragged across with the Mission Control "Move left/right a space" shortcuts, because synthesized Ctrl+1–9 presses are ignored on macOS 27. Enable "Move left a space" and "Move right a space" in System Settings > Keyboard > Keyboard Shortcuts > Mission Control.
- Pin Window uses the same focused-window resolution, so it also works on macOS 27.
- The Settings "Mission Control Shortcuts" status now checks both the Ctrl+1 and the Ctrl+Left/Right shortcuts.
What's new
- The popover action buttons show their shortcuts: Rename ⌘N, Move Window ⌘M, Pin Window ⌘P, and Settings ⌘,. ⌘M and ⌘P are new popover shortcuts.
- Move diagnostics are written to the unified log (
[Jumpee:Move],[Jumpee:Focus]).

Jumpee v1.9.0 — Visual workspace popover
What's Changed
Visual workspace popover
- Clicking the menu bar item or pressing Cmd+J now opens a visual workspace popover instead of a plain menu. Cmd+J toggles it open and closed.
- The header shows the current desktop's name, its number, and the physical display it lives on.
- Desktops are grouped by display, the current one is highlighted with a checkmark, and each row on the active display shows its Cmd+1..9 shortcut.
- A search field filters the list as you type, by custom name or desktop number. Selecting a row closes the popover and jumps to that desktop.
- Large Rename, Move Window, and Pin / Unpin Window buttons sit under the list. Disabled features stay visible with a tooltip explaining how to enable them.
- The footer shows the overlay and input source indicator status and opens Settings. A compact … overflow menu holds About, Quit, and Unpin All (when windows are pinned).
Placement and focus
- Clicking the status item anchors the popover beneath the menu bar icon. Opening it with the global hotkey respects the existing dropdown-at-cursor preference: at the pointer when enabled, or at the status item otherwise. When the menu bar icon is hidden the popover always opens at the pointer.
- Closing the popover or finishing a rename, move, or pin action restores focus to the application you were using.
Unchanged
- The native Settings window (Cmd+,), the JSON configuration format, desktop naming, the overlay, the input source indicator, window moving, and window pinning all work exactly as before.

Jumpee v1.8.0 — Native Settings window, focused menu
What's Changed
Native Settings window
- Cmd+, (or "Settings…" in the menu) now opens a real macOS Settings window with four panes: General, Appearance, Shortcuts, and Advanced.
- Every control writes straight through to
~/.tool-agents/jumpee/config.jsonand takes effect immediately. No Apply button, no restart, and the JSON format is unchanged, so existing config files keep working. - General: menu bar icon visibility, desktop number, dropdown-at-cursor, overlay, input source indicator, move-window and pin-window features.
- Appearance: overlay and input source indicator colors, sizes and opacity, with a live preview.
- Shortcuts: recorder-style controls for the dropdown, move-window and pin-window hotkeys. Click, press the chord, done. Special keys such as Space, Return, Tab and Escape can now be recorded (previously only a-z and 0-9 worked). Conflicts are checked, each row has a reset, and "Restore Defaults" resets all three.
- Advanced: Accessibility, Mission Control shortcut and Screen Recording status with links to the right System Settings pane, plus "Reveal Config File" and "Reload Now".
Focused menu
- The dropdown menu is now about desktops: current desktop and display at the top, the desktop list, rename / move / pin actions, then Settings, About and Quit.
- Feature toggles, hotkey editors and raw config commands moved out of the menu into Settings.
Polished dialogs
- Renaming a desktop uses a compact native panel (Return renames, Escape cancels, separate "Remove Name" action).
- "About Jumpee" uses the standard macOS About panel.

Jumpee v1.7.1 — Fix launch on macOS, universal binary
What's Changed
Fix: "You can't use this version of the application "Jumpee" with this version of macOS"
- v1.7.0 was compiled without an explicit deployment target, so the binary declared a minimum macOS higher than the systems it was supposed to run on, and Finder refused to launch it.
- Jumpee is now built with an explicit macOS 13.0 deployment target, matching the minimum version declared in Info.plist. The build fails if the two ever disagree.
Universal binary
- The app now ships as a universal binary and runs natively on both Apple silicon and Intel Macs.

Jumpee v1.7.0 — Config moved to ~/.tool-agents/jumpee
What's Changed
Config file moved to ~/.tool-agents/jumpee/config.json
- The configuration file now lives at
~/.tool-agents/jumpee/config.json, the same layout used by the other tools. The folder is created with mode0700and the file is written with mode0600. - Automatic migration: on first launch, an existing
~/.Jumpee/config.jsonis moved to the new location and the empty~/.Jumpeefolder is removed. Your desktop names, hotkeys and other settings are preserved. - The About panel, the help dialogs and the README point to the new path.
Build tooling
- Build output moved to
build.noindex/so a local build no longer shows up as a second "Jumpee" in Spotlight.
