📌 Day 1 – Express + PostgreSQL CRUD API

A simple Node.js + Express REST API connected to PostgreSQL, implementing full CRUD operations for managing items.
Tested using Postman, with environment variables managed via .env.

⚙️ Setup Instructions

1️⃣ Clone the repository

git clone https://github.com/bindum2004-code/day1-express-postgres.git
cd day1-express-postgres
Install dependencies
npm install

3️⃣ Configure environment variables

Create a .env file in the project root:

PORT=3000
DB_USER=your_user
DB_PASSWORD=your_password
DB_HOST=localhost
DB_PORT=5432
DB_DATABASE=day1db


👉 Use .env.example as a reference.

4️⃣ Run the server
npm run dev


Server runs at → http://localhost:3000

POST /api/items → Create new item
