@Rspigler It looks like what happened here is your settings file got "corrupted" by testing #15936. "Corrupted" in quotes because settings file is probably valid when using #15936, but not valid on master. To fix this without changing effective settings you can:
Sorry about this problem and thanks for testing #15936 and reporting this issue. Feel free to ping me or follow up with any questions in #15936. I'm going to close this issue, since it's caused by a PR that hasn't been merged, so bitcoin maintainers won't be burdened by having to track it. |
It wouldn't be nice if downgrading from 24.x to 23.x causes an abort either. Maybe we should still treat this as a bug and fix it for 23.0? |
Fix GUI startup crash reported by Rspigler in bitcoin#24457 that happens if settings.json contains an integer value for any of the configuration options which GUI settings can currently clash with (-dbcache, -par, -spendzeroconfchange, -signer, -upnp, -natpmp, -listen, -server, -proxy, -proxy, -onion, -onion, -lang, and -prune). Fix is a one-line change in ArgsManager::GetArg. The rest of the commit just adds a regression test for the GUI and unit tests for ArgsManager::GetArg methods.
This is a good point. Opened a fix to respect the setting instead of crashing in #24498 |
Just add tests. No changes to application behavior. Tests will be updated in the next commit changing & improving current behavior. Nice catch, @Rspigler and @ryanofsky. |
