Do Not Disturb cannot see subscribed .ics calendars

On an Android 10 device I was able to subscribe to an .ics calendar via ICSx5 and have Do Not Disturb turn on during calendar events from that calendar, but on my Android 12/GrapheneOS device Do Not Disturb doesn't seem to be able to 'see' that calendar (though it can see locally created calendars).

Can this be reproduced in the emulator? On my Samsung phone, DND mode doesn't seem to have calendar integration. Or is it about the setting that allows calendar notifications even in DND mode?

@rfc2822 I have reproduced it on my Pixel 6a. It's inside "Sound and vibration" > "Do not disturb" > "Schedules?" > "Add new one" > *type a name > "During the events of (all the calendars)"

Translations may vary, I have my phone in catalan 😉

The issue here is that the calendars added by ICSx5 do not show up, but the ones from DAVx5 do. I'm not sure how this list is made up, and whether we have any influence on it.

Funny, I don't have this option ("During the events of") on my Samsung (with Android 13).

But if it's in AOSP, we should be able to find it in the source code :)

The zen mode (Do Not Disturb) code gets the list of calendars here:

Calendars.CAL_ACCESS_CONTRIBUTOR is 500. ICSx5 creates read-only calendars with access level 200 (CAL_ACCESS_READ).

So the question is why does Do Not Disturb show only read/write calendars? Does it need write access to the calendars, maybe to change alarms or something like that?

Yeah, that's strange... I don't see an update to the calendar anywhere, just queries and reads... Even in the notification interceptor there aren't any writes.

Maybe this is some kind of typo? Or maybe some legacy code that no one has updated for a while?

Btw DAVx5 read-only calendars should also be hidden… (we could check that with Force read-only)
