BlogLogistics Remove Comment Feed 1.4.0
This release adds several small usability improvements while keeping the plugin focused on its core purpose of disabling WordPress comment feeds.
What's New
- Added a Feed Status section to the plugin settings page.
- Added a clear status indicator showing whether comment feeds are currently disabled.
- Added a Test Comment Feed button for quickly verifying that comment feeds are blocked.
- Added a Test Normal Feed button for confirming that standard WordPress post feeds remain available.
- Added a configurable HTTP response for blocked comment feeds:
- 404 Not Found, the existing and default behaviour.
- 410 Gone, for sites that want to explicitly indicate that comment feeds have been intentionally removed.
- Added a Settings shortcut to the WordPress Plugins screen.
Compatibility
- Updated Tested up to to WordPress 7.1.
- Updated the GitHub release workflow so generated update metadata also reports WordPress 7.1 compatibility.
Upgrade Notes
Existing installations will continue using 404 Not Found for blocked comment feeds unless the new 410 Gone option is selected.
Normal WordPress post feeds are unaffected.
