Encourage bloggers to use the 'extended' feature

I've had some ideas for how to encourage people to split their posts into abstract and body.

I left a comment on your blog post (though I don't see it so I suppose it's being held in moderation). I too would like to see this enhancement (and some others as well) and would be happy to help with this issue. I've spent the greater part of the last 12 years working with Movable Type both as a developer, an author, a consultant and its Product Manager so you could say I know the software pretty darn well.

However, I'm not sure what the process is for contributing. Is it as simple as the normal Github process or forking the repo and issuing pull requests or is there something more involved?

Did you preview your comment on my blog post, before posting it? There's currently an issue where preview'ing first results in the post not working. Maybe you could address that too? ;-)

Oh that's completely annoying. I'm not sure whether I did or not but if
you never got my comment, I suppose that answers it.

Given that I really love blogs.perl.org, I'd be happy to look into all of
these issues. Who do I talk to about getting access or forensic/analytic
information (like errors in apache log and MT system activity log, etc)
with which I can better diagnose/fix the problems?

If you look at the foot of every page on BPO, it gives Dave Cross and Aaron Crane as the owners / operators, you could contact them for access to logs etc.

I’ll call this one fixed (and long ago, too).

It remains unaddressed as far as individual users’ blogs are concerned (where it’s a usability issue that the terminology is confusing), but since they can’t hog a shared resource, I don’t think that rises to the level of keeping this issue open.
