MacPaper is open source software designed to provide macOS users with animated backgrounds. It's simple to use and only requires copying a gif file into a folder.
First, download the latest release of MacPaper from thr Releases tab. Open the DMG and drag MacPaper into your Applications. Then, go to your Applications folder, find MacPaper, right-click, and select "Open" when you see the error message (MacPaper works fine regardless of any system message). MacPaper is now installed! Copy your desired gif named 'background.gif' into the data folder that opens and restart MacPaper to see your new wallpaper in action.
