Highlights

• First public beta release of DicomMetaKit 🎉
• Pure Swift implementation of a DICOM metadata parser
• Provides a clean API to read only metadata elements (tags, VR, values) without pixel data

Features

• Supports DICOM Part 10 compliant files
• Parses File Meta Information (0002,xxxx) and main dataset elements
• Transfer Syntax detection for dataset parsing
• Stops at Pixel Data (7FE0,0010) by default

Testing

• Includes Swift Testing–based unit tests
• Test resources can be added under Tests/DicomMetaKitTests/Resources/
• Verified with public sample DICOM files (CT, MR, Ultrasound)

Limitations

• Pixel Data parsing is not supported
• SQ/Item parsing is simplified (undefined-length sequences are skipped)
• Some uncommon Transfer Syntaxes may not be fully handled
• API surface is subject to change before v1.0.0 stable
