And now our packit builds are failing with:

cargo_build: invalid option -- '-'

Thanks for digging in and fixing this!

In situations like this I think it's important to provide some "backpressure" - it's not even clear to me that the person doing the PR was aware of the potential scale of fallout. I just commented in https://gitlab.com/redhat/centos-stream/rpms/rust/-/merge_requests/116#note_2774447098
