Settings that helped
1.Edit Baldur.ini to use relative [Alias] paths:
HD0:=C:\Games\Baldur's Gate
CD1:=C:\Games\Baldur's Gate\data
CD2:=C:\Games\Baldur's Gate\data
CD3:=C:\Games\Baldur's Gate\data
CD4:=C:\Games\Baldur's Gate\data
CD5:=C:\Games\Baldur's Gate\data
CD6:=C:\Games\Baldur's Gate\data
2.Installed cnc-ddraw (ddraw.dll and ddraw.ini) in the same directory as BGMain2.exe. (Fixed graphical corruption, mouse icon ghost trails and game freezing.)
3.Configure ddraw.ini with renderer=gdi and fullscreen=true under [ddraw].
4.Add "ddraw"="native" under [Software\Wine\DllOverrides] in the game's Wine prefix registry.
5.Set Launch to BGMain2.exe directly.
Notes
Now works. Gameplay runs at 30 FPS, matching the game's configured frame-rate cap. Videos play at 15 FPS. Previous graphical corruption, ghost trails and gameplay freezing were resolved using cnc-ddraw with the GDI renderer and native DLL override. Saving & loading works. Sound works.
