This release adds some checks to confirm that data conform to limits imposed by BA3SNP and BA3MSAT executables. Within each distribution package are two executable files, one labelled BA3SNP and the other BA3MSAT. The 'SNP' version is intended for use with single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) data and is compiled to allow a maximum of 30,000 loci, 4 alleles per locus, 100 populations and 3000 individuals. The 'MSAT' version is intended for use with microsatellite data and is compiled to allow a maximum of 500 loci, 500 alleles per locus, 100 populations and 5000 individuals. Note that Mac users are strongly encouraged to use the Homebrew package manager to install BA3 rather than downloading binaries. This should work for all CPUs and distributions. Homebrew will install the latest release of BA3 and allow updates to be installed as well. See BA3 Homebrew installation instructions here: Homebrew install of BA3 HOWTO. A BA3 program manual with instructions for installing and running BA3 is available here.

Within each distribution package are two executable files, one labelled SNP and the other MSAT. The 'SNP' version is intended for use with single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) data and is compiled to allow a maximum of 30,000 loci, 4 alleles per locus, 20 populations and 2000 individuals. The 'MSAT' version is intended for use with microsatellite data and is compiled to allow a maximum of 500 loci, 500 alleles per locus, 100 populations and 5000 individuals.

Note: BA3-3.0.4-OSX-64 binaries will only run on machines running OSX 10.7 or later. For pre-10.7 intel Macs use the BA3-3.0.4-OSX-32 binaries. The BA3-3.0.4-Windows-64 binaries will only run on a modern 64-bit Windows operating system (Windows 7 and above).
