Version 1.2.4

Choose a tag to compare

@CalicoDesignCo CalicoDesignCo released this 02 Nov 08:10
416a44a

Fix stacked menus requiring two clicks to switch top-level sections. When focus moves to a sibling menu button, keep the old panel open until the click opens the new section and closes the old one together. This prevents the collapsing layout from moving the target away before the click completes.

Verified: realistic pointer presses switching siblings in both directions at desktop/tablet/phone widths; switching from deeper panels; same-item toggle; keyboard activation and focus leaving the menu; full navigation regression; real WordPress 1.2.3 to 1.2.4 upgrade preserving activation, menus and Elementor data.

Version 1.2.3

@CalicoDesignCo CalicoDesignCo released this 02 Nov 07:46

Fix uneven menu rows by removing the fixed minimum height from full-row submenu buttons. Custom padding now determines both ordinary link and parent-button heights consistently, including zero padding. Configured row gaps are preserved; wrapping or larger media can still expand content.

Configure padding in Elementor under Style → Top-level links → Padding, with separate controls for Dropdown links. Responsive padding controls remain available.

Verified: equal plain-label row heights with 0/8/20px padding at desktop/tablet/phone widths; exact 9px gaps; hover-color and full navigation regressions; real WordPress 1.2.2 to 1.2.3 upgrade preserving activation, menus and Elementor data.

Version 1.2.2

@CalicoDesignCo CalicoDesignCo released this 02 Nov 07:34

Fix menu hover backgrounds being covered by Elementor global button styles. Parent submenu buttons now remain transparent over their menu row, allowing the configured Normal, Hover and Active row backgrounds to show. Hover/focus text continues to inherit from the row.

Verified: Chrome styling regression with conflicting Elementor kit button rules; full navigation and popup regression suites; real WordPress 1.2.1 to 1.2.2 upgrade preserving activation, menus and Elementor data.

Version 1.2.1

@CalicoDesignCo CalicoDesignCo released this 02 Nov 07:16
d7c16fe

Fixes non-responsive navigation buttons in Elementor full-screen popups. Menus now initialize when attached to the document, including cloned widgets and overlays reopened after removal.

Adds smooth expand/collapse animation to vertical and mobile dropdowns using the existing animation duration. Reduced-motion preferences disable the animation. Deeper levels retain sliding forward/back navigation.

Verified: PHP 7.4/8.3 syntax; full local Chrome navigation regressions; popup clone/detach/reopen tests; forward/back navigation; interrupted animation and reduced motion; real WordPress 1.2.0 to 1.2.1 upgrade preserving activation, menus, and Elementor data. Physical devices and screen readers were not tested.

Version 1.2.0

@CalicoDesignCo CalicoDesignCo released this 02 Nov 07:01

Add a responsive Stacked vertical menu layout.

In Elementor, open Content → Menu & behavior → Menu layout and choose Horizontal or Stacked vertical. Use the device control for tablet and phone overrides. In vertical mode, main links stack and the first dropdown expands beneath its parent at the menu width. Deeper levels keep sliding within the same panel, with back navigation.

Works with icons/images, optional top-level arrows, and the existing mobile-collapse settings. Set Collapse to mobile menu to Never to keep the selected layout visible on small screens. Existing widgets remain horizontal by default.

Verification: PHP 7.4 syntax and updater checks; Chrome checks at desktop/tablet/phone widths for stacked geometry, inline dropdown placement, forward/back navigation, width containment, and responsive layout switching; real Elementor responsive control metadata and rendering; real WordPress 1.1.0→1.2.0 fixture upgrade preserving activation, menus, and Elementor data. Physical touch devices and screen readers were not tested.

Requires WordPress 6.5+, PHP 7.4+, and Elementor. GitHub-backed WordPress update support is retained.

Version 1.1.0

@CalicoDesignCo CalicoDesignCo released this 02 Nov 06:03
1789f43

Fix dropdowns closing when entering deeper submenu levels, and add optional top-level arrows.

  • Keep hover-open dropdowns open when their top-level label is clicked.
  • Preserve dropdown state during submenu focus transitions and retry focus after the slide when host styles defer visibility.
  • Add Menu & behavior → Show top-level arrows. Switch it off to remove top-level arrows while retaining full-row buttons and deeper forward/back controls.

Verification: PHP checks, updater tests, and Chrome regression checks passed, including delayed-focus and no-arrow fixtures. A real WordPress 1.0.0→1.1.0 upgrade on a disposable installation preserved activation, menus, and Elementor settings. The exact ZIP was installed with approval on the reported Niki staging site; Procedures→Face, Procedures→Breast, and back navigation were independently checked. Physical touch devices and screen readers were not tested.

Requires WordPress 6.5+, PHP 7.4+, and Elementor. Existing updater-enabled installations can use WordPress Updates. Existing settings are retained; top-level arrows remain enabled by default.

Version 1.0.0

@CalicoDesignCo CalicoDesignCo released this 02 Nov 05:30
35fed43

First release of Calico Drill Down Menu for Elementor.

  • Sliding dropdown panels with forward/back navigation at deeper menu levels.
  • Full parent rows open submenus; View parent links preserve page destinations.
  • Icons, images, or both on navigation items, with Elementor styling controls.
  • Phone, tablet, custom breakpoint, and never-collapse options.
  • Native GitHub-backed WordPress updates with cached stable metadata and version-pinned packages; no GitHub token required.

Installation: Upload the attached calico-drilldown-navigation.zip through WordPress Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin. Elementor must be active. The installed folder and widget identifier remain unchanged. If you installed local 0.1.0 or 0.2.0, manually upload this version once to enable future updates.

Verification: PHP 7.4/8.3 checks, 23 updater tests, and Chrome navigation/responsive checks passed. In disposable WordPress 6.8.11 / Elementor 4.3.5 / PHP 8.3.33, the exact ZIP installed and activated, the widget rendered, and a real WordPress Plugin_Upgrader update from an isolated older-version fixture preserved activation, menu data, and Elementor settings. That isolated update used substituted release metadata/package transport. Live production-site updates, physical touch devices, and screen readers have not been independently tested.

Release source: 35fed43dd1f0a5c2181f3ff9d9cd48fb3c1e00f1. All seven production files were compared with the uploaded source.

ZIP SHA256: e377fb6cee345be6c34a799324274557eb0a6673ddf2d7c80ae917b0ebf5fc00.

Post-publication updater verification: Live public GitHub metadata and both anonymous download URLs were verified. On disposable WordPress 6.8.11 / Elementor 4.3.5 / PHP 8.3.33, an isolated older header fixture received the real update offer, WordPress downloaded the actual GitHub release asset, and Plugin_Upgrader completed the update while preserving activation and saved Elementor data. This final transport test used no substituted metadata or package.
