Proton-Workaround-v1.0.4
Good news! This patch is now part of the regular version of GE-Proton available here. So please use that version in the future unless it does not work for you for some reason, in which case I am keeping this version of Proton available for use. Instructions available below should still work for the official version of GE-Proton, but the files will be under a different name which you should keep in mind.
^^^ PLEASE READ ABOVE ^^^
This is a version of Glorious Eggroll Proton v9.0.5 with a patch to add support for native XInput controls in Dragon Age Inquisition. An alternative version (although on a different version of wine) of Glorious Eggroll proton-wine for use with the non-Steam version of the game is available here.
To install, extract the folder to "/home/deck/.steam/steam/compatibilitytools.d". "compatibilitytools.d" is a folder that need to be created if it is not already there.
To use with Steam, go to library and hit the start button over the copy of Dragon Age Inquisition. Select "Properties...", then open the "Compatibility" settings. Toggle "Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool" on and then select "DAI-Proton-v1.0.4" from the list.
If it does not show up in the list, ensure you extracted the folder in the correct location and that the directory looks something like this "/home/deck/.steam/steam/compatibilitytools.d/DAI-Proton".
This build is not recommended for use with other games as it may cause bugs or problems due to the patch being a workaround rather than a true fix for the problem.
Proton-Workaround-v1.0.2
THIS VERSION MAY NOT WORK. PLEASE USE THIS VERSION UNLESS IT DOES NOT WORK FOR YOU. VARIOUS USERS HAVE REPORTED THAT v1.0.2 CAN NO LONGER GET PAST THE EA APP ON STEAM DECK. YOU CAN TRY THIS VERSION AND IT MAY WORK FOR YOU, BUT IT IS NOT 100% GUARANTEED TO WORK.
