Stable release of the v2.4.0 beta line (v2.4.0-beta.0 to beta.6). Changes since v2.3.9:

  • feat: support the Kiro terminal (dev.kiro.desktop). Like the other VS Code based editors, the completion popup follows the caret of its integrated terminal (#201)
  • feat: add a "Receive Beta Updates" toggle under Settings → About → Updates (app.betaUpdates, off by default). When on, Easy Complete checks a separate beta update feed and installs prerelease builds; stable releases still reach you from there
  • fix: pressing Enter on a line that starts with # no longer rewrites it into a failing ec translate '…' command left over from Amazon Q. The ai.terminal-hash-sub setting is removed and # lines reach the shell untouched
  • fix: Settings now shows the defaults the app actually uses (Insert Trailing Space on, Font Size 12.8, Max Width 320); the dashboard and the popup read every default from one shared table
  • fix: left clicks on the menu bar icon are no longer swallowed on macOS 27 (tray-icon 0.26.1, muda 0.21.2, tao 0.37.1), and the icon keeps its 18 pt size
  • fix: ecterm no longer crashes when the Nushell hint color contains an unclosed /* comment
  • fix: ec doctor and the setup page no longer report the shell integration as needing setup when Otty's guarded shell integration block sits below ours in ~/.zshrc or ~/.bashrc
  • fix: update dependencies with published security advisories, including rustls, time, h2, crossbeam-epoch, event-listener, quinn-proto, zod and dompurify (website)
  • chore: update wry from 0.49.0 to 0.57.0, which fixes a race between closing a webview and answering its custom protocol requests (the area of the #199 crash) and asynchronous custom protocol requests that never got a response
  • chore: remove leftover Amazon Q code that no longer did anything (inline shell completion scripts, the FigAutosuggestionColor prompt report, ec _ callback, the SSH remote-install prompt) and the Nushell crates pulled in by shell-color (56 packages)
  • ci: release tags run the full CI suite before building, and the Rust and npm lockfiles are audited for advisories on every change and weekly
