• macOS, easiest (no security prompt): paste this into Terminal:

  curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/chog-buddy-team/chog-buddy/main/scripts/install-mac.sh | bash

• macOS DMG: Chog-Buddy-0.1.1-arm64.dmg for Apple Silicon, Chog-Buddy-0.1.1-x64.dmg for Intel.
  • Drag the app into Applications and open it once.
  • Then go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway.
• Windows: Chog-Buddy-Setup-0.1.1.exe. If SmartScreen appears, click More info, then Run anyway.

The tray icon is the Chog: in the menu bar on a Mac, and by the clock on Windows (click ^ if it's hidden). On Windows, a left-click or right-click opens the menu.

What's new in 0.1.1

• Sign-in fix: after wallet sign-in, the next dialog ("Which Chog should live on your desktop?" / "This wallet holds no Chog Genesis NFT") now opens on top of the browser. It used to hide behind it on Windows. The sign-in page now says "Switch back to Chog Buddy to finish."
• The app is called Chog Buddy everywhere: dialogs, the window and Windows notifications.
• New: Tray → Movement: Walk around, or Stay where I put it. In Stay mode, drag the Chog anywhere on screen and it stays there, even after a restart.
• Tray icon: now the Chog, and easy to find in the Windows tray.
• Website favicon: now the Chog logo.
• One-line macOS installer: skips the Gatekeeper block.

Chog Buddy turns your Chog Genesis NFT into a desktop pet. It lives on your screen, reacts to your day, writes a private diary, and grows a public onchain Soul tied to the token. Built for Chogathon 2026.

The builds aren't code-signed, which keeps the project at $0, so your OS will warn you once:

• macOS: drag Chog Buddy into Applications. Open it once, then go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway. Or run xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine "/Applications/Chog Buddy.app" in Terminal.
• Windows: when SmartScreen appears, click More info, then Run anyway.

Try it

1. Open the app and pick Judge Mode (demo Chog), or sign in with the wallet that holds your Chog.
2. Click the Chog, or press Ctrl+Shift+Space, to chat.
3. From the tray menu, try Skin, Today's diary, Chat history & diary…, Open Chog Park and Bet on my focus.

What's in 0.1.0

• The Pet: walks, perches, can be dragged. It has a canonical pixel Chog with expressions and five skins, including My NFT skin.
• Personality: an Archetype picked from your Chog's traits.
• Reactions: to what you're doing, plus Focus Mode, GitHub and calendar triggers.
• Chat: works with no setup through the free server, with free backup models. Ollama or your own Gemini key also work. Chats are saved encrypted.
• Diary: written each evening and kept only on your computer.
• Wallet sign-in: with ownership re-checked daily. If the Chog leaves your wallet, its diary and chats are wiped.
• Onchain Soul: four axes, level and owner count on ChogSoul (Monad testnet), updated daily from category minutes only.
• Chog Park: a public page of active Chogs with a focus leaderboard.
• Focus Bets: stake test $CHOG on focusing. Your Chog reports coding and design time every 30 s, and you win a bonus or feed the reward pot.
