Nineteen pull requests on one question: why do so few vendor skills replace the foundation's
own?
Measured answer: discovery only ever judged one alphabetical slice of its candidates, its
judge read a repo's README instead of the skills it ships, and vendors publish through channels a
repository-name search never sees — inside the tool's own repo, inside an npm package, under
.well-known/agent-skills. And the foundation's skills are not "better": eleven of them carried
third-party facts that had gone stale. This release fixes the judge and the discovery channels,
corrects those facts, and points six skills at the vendor that now maintains the depth.

Added

  • Discovery reaches the channels vendors actually use. A candidate can now be a sub-directory of
a repo (owner/repo/sub), screened and judged on that sub-directory alone (#640); a new npm
    source reads the skills shipped inside packages tagged tanstack-intent, at their release (#641);
and two more sources read a fixed list of tool repos (vercel/next.js, cypress, ChromeDevTools,
flutter, docker, hashicorp) and .well-known/agent-skills indexes (#642).
  • Six skills point at their vendor. dev-react-perf → Vercel's react-best-practices (keeping
    what it leaves out: virtualization, state colocation, profiling, Core Web Vitals) (#632);
    ops-infra-code → antonbabenko/terraform-skill v1.17.1 and hashicorp/agent-skills v1.0.0, keeping
    a condensed HCL core (#633); ops-docker → docker/skills v0.3.1, keeping image scanning and
    Hadolint (#633); dev-flutter → flutter/agent-plugins, keeping BLoC, and qa-chrome →
chrome-devtools-mcp skills (#634). dev-document is scoped to code that generates documents —
for Claude to write an office file itself, Anthropic's docx/pdf/xlsx/pptx skills fit (#632).
  • Conditional vendor pointers ("if you use X") for Stripe, Airflow, Dagster, dbt, AWS,
Cloudflare, Expo (#636), Redux, FormatJS, web-quality, k6 and GitHub Actions hardening (#638).
Firecrawl's operation skills are deliberately not recommended (#638).
  • Trigger eval with vendor skills installed side by side: run.sh --extra-skills DIR and five
vendor-*-coexist cases (#629); dev-prisma and work-quick are judged by the outcome, not by
    which skill fired (#635).

Fixed

  • Security rules that never loaded. With a vendor's Supabase skill installed, dev-supabase
never fired — so its RLS and service_role rules never reached the session. Those rules, and
Prisma's, now live in two path-scoped rules, .claude/rules/supabase.md and
.claude/rules/prisma.md, loaded on matching files whichever skill fires (#630).
  • Eleven stale third-party facts: FID instead of INP, Lucia (abandoned), wkhtmltopdf
(archived), Airflow schedule_interval (removed in 3), Terraform stopping at 1.11, a CI example
without permissions: and mutable tags, among others; a test replays the old files and flags them
    all (#631).
  • The curation judge reads the skills a repo ships, not its README; a repo with no SKILL.md is
rejected without an LLM call (#627). Pins track the newest stable release (neither draft nor
prerelease), and proposals are recorded so they stop coming back each month (#628).
  • Unpinned git sources are screened as remote exec (git+ without a pin, a moving branch,
a login before the host) (#637).

Changed

  • CI bats shards are balanced by measured duration instead of line count: macOS longest shard
    619 s → ~514 s (#639).
  • Re-pinned 12 vendor skills (#624, #644); CI action bump (#645).

Upgrade notes

  • claude-base update --all brings the two new path-scoped rules (prisma.md, supabase.md)
and the updated skills. Vendor skills are never installed for you: the preset's
recommendations list them, opt-in, with their pinned ref.
