PC TV Remote beta 3 — TV selector fix

Fixes TV switching after scanning. Previous versions only remembered the one TV chosen from scan results, leaving the dropdown with a single entry.

• All TVs found in a scan are now remembered for switching.
• A clear Choose TV dialog replaces the saved-TV dropdown.
• Existing pairing details, saved TVs and the active selection are preserved.

Install this APK over the current version, then open TVs > Find TVs once to populate the list. Tap the TV name at the top to switch.

Validation: 20 backend tests, signed Android release build, lint with 0 errors, and Android emulator switching between two TVs in both directions, restart persistence and selector recovery after a network request. Physical-phone confirmation remains pending.

Live is unchanged: Live Android APK and Live web app.

Android 7+ on a 64-bit device. No PC required. Checksums and complete source are attached.

PC TV Remote mobile beta 2 — new remote layout and Roku inputs

A more comfortable PC TV Remote, with the same direct phone-to-TV connection and no PC required.

• Handheld remote layout: circular orange OK/D-pad, power and input at the top, volume/channel rockers and compact playback buttons.
• TV discovery, pairing and management live in a separate TVs panel.
• Roku Input now offers the TV's configured inputs, with HDMI port numbers when names repeat. It previously had no Roku handler.
• Saved TVs and pairing details are retained when installing this update over beta 1. Android 7+ on a 64-bit device is required.

Validation: signed release build, lint (0 errors), 18 backend tests, Android emulator setup/control/Input/persistence flows, and small-screen/large-font checks. A real Roku's input list was read successfully; physical input switching has not been verified. TV compatibility still varies by model.

Live is unchanged: Live Android APK and Live web app for iPhone. Pro/Lite mobile and an iPhone web remote are not offered because their existing features cannot run independently in those environments.

SHA256SUMS.txt covers this release's APK and source archive. Source includes build instructions and third-party notices; signing keys are excluded.

Standalone Android and iPhone web beta

Standalone mobile beta for PC TV Live and PC TV Remote. Neither APK needs a PC running.

• PC TV Live Android: 10 selected live channels, search, categories, favorites, and native video playback. Internet required.
• PC TV Live iPhone/web: https://clark719664.github.io/pc-tv-apps/live/ — open in Safari, then Share → Add to Home Screen. Native HLS and AirPlay are offered where supported.
• PC TV Remote Android: TV discovery, manual IP, saved TVs, pairing and remote buttons. Connect the phone and TV to the same Wi-Fi. Roku, Samsung, LG, Vizio and Google/Android TV compatibility remains beta.

These are smaller standalone mobile versions. Live has no full desktop country catalogue, program schedule guide, PC library, browser extraction, transcoding or multi-TV casting. Channels can change or be region restricted. Pro/Lite mobile builds and an iPhone web remote are not offered.

Android 7+ phones/tablets; Remote requires a 64-bit arm64-v8a or x86_64 device. APKs are directly installable, signed with the project's mobile release key. They are not Play Store listings. Android TV and Fire TV installations are not validated targets.

Verification: Live's 10 channels all decoded video in Chromium; search/favorites, offline cached shell, blocked-stream recovery and 320–1280px layouts passed. Live release installed and played CBS video/audio in an Android 16 emulator (1280×720 H.264/AAC). No physical iPhone/AirPlay or real phone/TV compatibility claim is made.

Source and third-party notices are included in the source ZIP. SHA-256 checksums accompany the APKs. This prerelease does not replace the existing desktop latest release.

Remote verification: 11 Python regression tests passed. The signed release APK installed and launched in Android 16; a simulated Roku received native Home commands, saved TVs survived process restart, and Forget removed the test TV. Final independent source review has no critical/important findings. Physical TV compatibility remains unverified.

PC Cast Pro 2026.10.23.1 - Windows reliability update

PC Cast Pro for Windows now retries incomplete video segments before sending them to the player, keeps active playback sessions available, and can recover a stalled conversion worker without changing the selected source or quality.

• Selected resolution, frame rate, codec and bitrate stay consistent after choosing a quality, including sources that omit bitrate metadata.
• Profile PIN entry handles expired sessions and incorrect attempts separately.
• TV request failures return a usable error response.
• The public build excludes private catalog adapters and their provider-specific extraction code, personal settings and credentials. DRM restrictions remain enforced.

This release updates PC Cast Pro for Windows. The application source archive includes the shared public code. Linux and the other app editions remain on their previous downloads; this release does not replace the latest complete four-app release.

Included downloads: Windows installer, portable Windows ZIP, application source ZIP, third-party corresponding sources and SHA-256 checksums. The application source ZIP is separate from GitHub's automatically generated website-source archives.

Validation: 128 focused backend/boundary tests passed; the broader public suite had 374 passes and one skip, plus two TV error-response regressions. Public source, compiled application modules, UI assets and nested Roku packages passed exclusion scans. The frozen executable passed an isolated startup/HTTP smoke test using its remote edition override. A clean-machine Windows installation and a Linux binary rebuild were not performed for this release.

IN3RT1A apps 2026.10.21.3 - PC Cast Pro, PC Cast Lite, PC TV Live, PC TV Remote (Windows + Linux)

What's new in 2026.10.21.3

• Cast a link plays the best version of a video. PC Cast Pro and PC Cast Lite now pick the highest resolution a page offers, up to 4K. A YouTube video that offers 1080p at 60 frames per second plays at 1080p60, not 360p. The result card shows what you're getting, for example 1080p60 · 6.2 Mb/s · H.264.
• More pages work. Paste a page and the app finds the video player on it: news sites and broadcasters' live pages that embed a YouTube, Vimeo, Dailymotion or Twitch player, PeerTube video sites, and direct links to video files and HLS or DASH streams. On a test set of 50 free, public pages (Internet Archive, PeerTube, Wikimedia Commons, Dailymotion, Vimeo, YouTube, Twitch and broadcasters' own live pages), all 50 now play, up from 23.
• Clear reasons when a link can't play. If a video needs a sign-in, isn't available in your region, isn't live right now or no longer exists, the app says so instead of showing a general error.

• PC TV Live guide: the broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, PBS, ION Plus) now show their schedules, and Pluto TV and Plex channels show a full day's listings. On a PC without Node.js, 565 of 611 US channels have a schedule, up from 311.
• PC TV Live, a new app: free, legal live TV with a channel guide. Pick your country and it shows the channels available where you are.
• Multicast in PC Cast Pro and PC Cast Lite: send one link to several TVs, or a different link to each group of TVs, from one screen.
• Embedded players: paste a page's embed code (<iframe ...>) or an embed link and it plays on the TV like any other link. If a player needs the page it came from, add that page too.
• Donor messages: approved messages from supporters scroll across the top of each app's home screen.
• Linux versions of all four apps: PC Cast Pro, PC Cast Lite, PC TV Live and PC TV Remote (x86_64, Ubuntu 22.04 / Debian 12 or newer), with an optional background service for small always-on boxes.
• Fixed: PC Cast Lite now finds Roku TVs as Rokus. Before, it could list them only through the experimental AirPlay route.
• Firewall: Setup for the casting apps now offers to let TVs on your home network reach the app. Windows asks for permission once. If you skip it, Windows asks the first time the app opens.

Install (one click)

Download the Setup file for the app you want, run it, and click Install. That's it.

• PC-TV-Remote-Setup.exe: PC TV Remote / PC Cast
• Beam-Setup.exe: Beam local web video casting

Everything the apps need on the PC is included: the app, its Python runtime, Chromium, FFmpeg and FFprobe for conversion and casting, ADB for Fire TV, and the PC Cast Roku channel. Nothing else needs to be downloaded or installed. Setup needs no administrator rights. It adds Start Menu and desktop shortcuts and can open the app when it finishes. Uninstall it from Windows Settings > Apps; your settings and media are kept.

Prefer not to install? The Windows-Complete.zip files hold the same complete app. Extract one to a short folder such as %USERPROFILE%\PC-TV-Remote and run the app inside it.

Keep the PC on and awake, on the same network as the TV. TVs are found automatically. The app walks you through any TV pairing and the one-time Roku PC Cast channel setup.

Tested by the developer on TVs on their own network. Other TV models can vary; additional TV brands and casting protocols remain beta.

These builds are unsigned, so Windows SmartScreen may say it "protected your PC". Click More info, then Run anyway. Check the SHA-256 below if you want to confirm the file.

Licenses and source

Third-party licenses ship inside each app (THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md and tools/share/licenses). FFmpeg here is licensed under GPL v3 or later. PC-TV-Apps-Third-Party-Sources-2026.10.20.2.zip contains the exact corresponding source and build recipe for every bundled third-party tool.

Windows beta: PC TV Remote / PC Cast + Beam

Choose RokuRemote-public-external-tools.zip for PC TV Remote / PC Cast, or Beam-1.1.0-public-external-tools.zip for Beam local web video casting. Extract into a short folder such as %USERPROFILE%\PC-TV-Remote or %USERPROFILE%\Beam, then follow the included setup notes. The PC must remain on and awake, on the same local network as the TV. Roku casting requires the one-time PC Cast developer-channel setup described in the package.

FFmpeg, ffprobe and ADB are not bundled. Compatible direct MP4 playback can work without FFmpeg; conversion and bridged/web casting require a separate FFmpeg installation.

Tested by the developer on TVs on their own network. Compatibility on other TV models can vary. Samsung, LG, Vizio, Google TV and additional casting protocols remain beta. Complete installers with the needed PC dependencies are being prepared.

The optional creator-support download is the same PC TV Remote / PC Cast app, with no extra features or promises of future updates/support.
