🟠 Code Orange Dev School

Bitcoin lacks developers and node runners in Asia. Code Orange fixes this by training regular developers and bitcoiners into builders who strengthen Bitcoin’s network through advanced self-custody, node running and community leadership.

What We Do

  • Developer Study Cohorts: 8-week Decoding Bitcoin study cohorts, 5-week Sovereign Bitcoiner crash courses and monthly Vibe Coding on Nostr workshops.
  • Workshops: Hands-on in-person workshops covering node-running, mining, multisig, private eCash payments, fedimint, Nostr and more to keep the network decentralised.
  • Community Hubs: We aim to inspire 10 more Bitcoin Houses by the end of 2026 by helping community leaders to start their own physical hubs Across South East Asia in Thai, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Malay, English and Mandarin.
  • Talent Scouting: Train developers with resources from Chaincode Labs, base58, ₿Trust/Qala and Vinteum, guiding graduates to contribute to Bitcoin Core, Lightning, Fedimint, etc.
  • Train-the-Trainer: Headhunt and empower technical community leaders at bitcoin hubs in Asia to replicate Code Orange workshops. Monthly train-the-trainer sessions ensures quality of workshops.
  • "Sovereign Bitcoiner" packs: Sending parcels to community hubs with Tshirts, SeedSigners, stickers and workshop guides to empower community leaders with technical know-how on running bitcoiner workshops.
  • Local Payments: Empower plebs with freedom tools like Fedi’s federated mints, Koral and PlebQR for smoother payments.

Goals:

  • Two GitHub pull requests per week from the end of 2026
  • 21,000 additional full bitcoin nodes deployed by 2030
  • Create 15 gig economy jobs (train-the-trainer program) through monthly workshops and study cohorts
  • Inspire creation of 10 more Bitcoin Houses across Asia by the end of 2026.

Code Orange Workshop

Impact and Highlights

  • Launched a 2nd Decoding Bitcoin cohort with 12 graduates, contributing to Bitcoin Open Source Software.
  • Biweekly workshops at Bitcoin House Bali on mining, multisig, private payments and advanced self-custody (e.g., BitAxe Workshop).
  • Created a handful part-time jobs for local bitcoin developers and educators as part of our train-the-trainer program.
  • Hosting an ongoing monthly Bitcoin Reading Club every 4th Wednesday of the month. Launching Vibe Coding on Nostr workshop.
  • Hosting a “Sovereign Bitcoiner Mastermind” at Bitcoin Indonesia Conference 2025.
