• System check codenerix.E001 names the real cause when a stock page cache middleware (django.middleware.cache.UpdateCacheMiddleware, FetchFromCacheMiddleware or CacheMiddleware) is in MIDDLEWARE together with the codenerix.debug_middleware subclass that autoload() put in its place. That happens when settings code runs after autoload() and adds the middleware again because it tests MIDDLEWARE for the stock path only (if "django.middleware.cache.UpdateCacheMiddleware" not in MIDDLEWARE: ...), so the page cache runs twice. The message used to suggest adding the page cache before calling autoload(), which those projects already do; it now says the middleware was added again after autoload() replaced it and that such checks must also accept the codenerix.debug_middleware path. Only the message changes: the debug tools still fail closed in that configuration.
