Improve unit tests

The global coverage of the current codebase is still very flaky and some tests might not be the most relevant.
Most of them are AI generated and I must confess my light experience on the matter, but I strongly believe in the benefits of unit tests.

So I'm calling for help, if any seasoned TDD developer can provide guidance or even contribute to improve the testing on this project, it would greatly help with the stability and the speed at which we can improve this project in the near future

closing this as the most urgent part of this issue has been taken care of, it's now an ongoing process of continuous improvements of the current tests
