Release Notes
Built with jarvis: confer whoami, an opaque --project tag on requests (with a dashboard filter), and verified rename links between roles. Plus plugin install steps up front, and a SessionStart hook that stops telling plugin users to arm a Monitor.
- Plugin install steps up front. The README opens with a three-step TL;DR for Claude Code (the
CLI, the plugin, confer onboard), and the website shows the plugin next to every install
command.confer onboardnow tells a Claude Code agent to install the plugin, or says it already is. - The SessionStart hook no longer tells plugin users to re-arm under a Monitor. After a reboot
the hook ran before the plugin reader restarted the watchers, saw them stale, and advised the
Monitor re-arm the plugin exists to replace. With the plugin installed it now says the plugin is
starting them, and lists any unread mail instead. - Verified role-rename links:
whois/whonow fold an old role id into the role it became,
but only when the fold is cryptographically earned. A role card is data any hub writer can
rewrite, so a bare self-declaredrenamed_fromwould let any role hijackwhois <victim>and
redirect peers to an impostor.describe --renamed-from <OLD>/--renamed-to <NEW>let a role
claim it moved, but the claim is only VERIFIED — and only then folded — when either the new
side claims it and both cards publish the SAME pubkey (a shared key alone is not a rename: one
agent may run two live roles), or BOTH sides agree (new's card listsrenamed_fromcontaining
old, andold's card listsrenamed_to: new), and in every case a card's field only counts
when that card's latest edit is signature-verified against its pinned key (the same rule that
already gates the self-declaredstatusfield).whois <old>follows a verified chain to its
final role and says "(renamed from<old>)"; a one-sided or unsigned claim is never folded, only
surfaced as an advisory note.who --jsonandwhois --json(new--jsonflag) both gain
renamed_from,renamed_to,rename_verified, andrename_claims_unverified(jarvis). - An opaque
--projecttag on messages, so a stuck-work checker can tell projects apart.
45% of jarvis's 347 requests sit in topic "general", which can't say which project (and owner)
a request belongs to.append/request/note/claim/doneall take--project <SLUG>(1–64
chars,[A-Za-z0-9._/:-]; a bad slug is refused and nothing is written) — confer carries it
verbatim, with no registry and no resolution againsttopicor cwd. A request's EFFECTIVE
project is its own tag, else the latest (by message id) tag among its claim/done/error and
reply-to lifecycle — latest wins.confer requests --project <slug>filters to it (--project nonefor untagged requests), and--jsongainsproject(the effective tag or null),
project_source("own"|"thread"| null), andproject_conflict(true when the tag
disagreed somewhere in that lifecycle) (jarvis).confer serve's task board now shows this
same effective project as a chip on each request (⚠ + tooltip on conflict) and filters by it,
including an "untagged" option. confer whoami [--json]: which role is this session? For session-start hooks (jarvis). It
answers from$CONFER_ROLE, the hub clone you are in, this session's armed watches, or this
project's remembered hubs, stopping at the first that answers. Roles (with their hubs) go to
stdout, one per line; the source goes to stderr. With--json:{source, detail, roles:[{role, hubs}]}. Nothing resolves: exit 1, nothing on stdout. It reads files only (no git), about 10ms.
