Release list
v0.4.3
magnetowid 0.4.3 makes signing out of the web interface end the session, and is built with Go 1.27.3.
- Signing out now ends the session on the server too. A copy of the session cookie stops working once you sign out, instead of staying valid until it expires 30 days after sign-in.
- Built with Go 1.27.3, which fixes GO-2026-6809: crypto/x509 now distrusts compromised intermediate certificates on the HTTPS connections magnetowid makes to the sites.
- Updated the Alpine base image of the container to 3.24.3, and the Go dependencies and test image pins.
Existing databases and sessions work without manual migration.
docker pull ghcr.io/combor/magnetowid:0.4.3Native archives require ffmpeg to be installed separately. See the setup guide.
v0.4.2
magnetowid 0.4.2 keeps download history after Sonarr or Radarr cleanup.
- Completed and failed downloads stay in History for 90 days from completion, including across restarts.
- Downloads removed by Sonarr or Radarr remain as Archived records with their original result. Removing an archived record only removes the history entry, never files.
- Updated Go dependencies and container image pins.
Existing databases work without manual migration. Previously deleted history is not restored.
docker pull ghcr.io/combor/magnetowid:0.4.2Native archives require ffmpeg to be installed separately. See the setup guide.
v0.4.1
magnetowid 0.4.1 gives each site its own connection, so sites that stream to different countries work in one install.
- A proxy per site:
MAGNETOWID_TVP_PROXYandMAGNETOWID_BBC_PROXY(flags-tvp-proxyand-bbc-proxy) take an HTTP proxy's URL, ordirect. A site's searches, streams and subtitles all go through its setting. - VPN exits for the Linux service: the deb, rpm and AUR packages include
magnetowid-vpn@.service.systemctl enable --now magnetowid-vpn@plruns a Gluetun container from/etc/magnetowid/vpn-pl.envand serves its proxy on a local port, one instance per country. It needs Docker and stays unused until you enable an instance. - VPN exits for Docker Compose:
compose.vpn.yamladds an exit to the quick start'scompose.yaml. - Guide: Region-locked sites sets up an exit for one site, then a second, with an example settings file to copy.
- Secrets kept out of the log: the usage text printed when a required setting is missing no longer shows the API key or a proxy's password.
After upgrading:
- Nothing changes until you set a site's proxy: without one, every site is reached as before.
Read the setup documentation or the Docker Compose guide.

v0.4.0
magnetowid 0.4.0 adds a web interface, overrides to correct matching, and downloads that continue where they stopped.
- Web interface: open
http://<magnetowid-host>:8484/and sign in with the API key. The queue shows the running download's progress and time left, queued jobs in run order, and the last error of paused or retrying jobs. Pause or resume the queue or a single job, or remove a job. - History: finished and failed downloads, newest first, kept for 30 days. Removing one can also delete its folder.
- Overrides: when a series or film is missing, or its episodes are paired wrongly, correct the match on the Overrides page or through the
/overridesAPI. An override gives the site's titles to search, its ID or page address, rules placing TVDB seasons in the site's numbering, and pinned episodes. It applies from the next search, and to RSS feeds at the next sync. - Setup page: lists the download client and indexer values to enter in Sonarr and Radarr for your install, with each site's state, the version and the download folder.
- Resumed downloads: paused, interrupted and retried downloads continue from their last complete segment instead of starting over. magnetowid now fetches HLS segments itself, four at a time, and ffmpeg remuxes them.
- Specials and daily series: Sonarr's searches for specials, and for a daily series' episodes by air date, now get answers. BBC iPlayer pairs specials by title or air date; on TVP VOD a special needs a pinned episode. Releases keep TVDB's numbering, such as
S00E01orS2026E187.
After upgrading:
- Finishing a download now needs free space for about twice the video's size. Partial downloads stay in
.incompletein the download folder until the job finishes or is removed.
Read the setup documentation or the Docker Compose guide.

v0.3.1
magnetowid 0.3.1 adds BBC iPlayer support and preserves HLS audio language in downloaded MP4 files.
- BBC iPlayer: search and download series through Sonarr and films through Radarr using the new
/bbcNewznab indexer. - Episode matching: BBC searches resolve series through TVDB and Skyhook, then match episodes by title, air date, and numbering. Ambiguous matches and conflicting remakes are omitted.
- BBC RSS feeds: searched series and films join persistent watch lists, so Sonarr and Radarr can discover newly available releases.
- BBC streams and subtitles: select 1080p streams when available, refresh expiring stream URLs at download time, and save English accessibility subtitles as
.eng.sdh.srt. - Audio language: downloaded MP4 files retain the selected HLS audio track's language metadata.
- Documentation: clearer setup instructions and provider notes.
To use BBC iPlayer, add a Newznab indexer at http://<magnetowid-host>:8484/bbc with API path /api, using your existing magnetowid API key and download client. BBC streams require a UK connection. See the BBC iPlayer notes for matching rules and limitations.
Read the setup documentation or the Docker Compose guide.

v0.3.0
magnetowid 0.3.0 adds subtitles, audio language labels, and download pausing for Sonarr and Radarr.
- Subtitles: TVP subtitles are converted from TTML to SRT and saved beside the video, with language and accessibility labels such as
.pol.sdh.srt. Speaker colours, line breaks, bold, and italics are preserved. A subtitle failure keeps the downloaded video. - Audio language: release names now include the stream's audio language when available, so Sonarr and Radarr can identify Polish audio during selection and import.
- Pause and resume: the SABnzbd-compatible API supports pausing the whole queue or individual jobs. Pauses survive restarts. A running download starts again from the beginning when resumed.
- Health and logging:
/health,-healthcheck, and the container's built-in health check report service availability. SetMAGNETOWID_LOG_LEVEL=debugfor request and RSS diagnostics. - Reliability: fixes for pause/resume races and RSS pagination, plus constant-time API key comparisons. CI now tests searches, RSS grabs, video imports, and subtitle imports with Sonarr and Radarr. A daily workflow checks the live TVP, Skyhook, and Wikidata APIs.
After upgrading:
- Enable Import Extra Files in Sonarr and Radarr under Settings → Media Management → Show Advanced, with
srtamong the extensions, to import subtitles. - Radarr profiles default to a film's original language. To accept TVP's Polish audio, set the profile's Language to Any, or Polish for Polish audio only.
Read the setup documentation or the Docker Compose guide.

v0.2.1
magnetowid 0.2.1 is vodarr under a new name. It finds far more of TVP's catalogue, and gets new episodes and films to Sonarr and Radarr on its own.
- New name: vodarr is now magnetowid, Polish for VCR, because another project already used the name. The settings are now
MAGNETOWID_*, the image isghcr.io/combor/magnetowid, and the packages aremagnetowid(deb, rpm, Homebrew, Scoop, NUR) andmagnetowid-bin(AUR). - Series by TVDB ID: Sonarr's titles come from TVDB and are often English, such as "Days of Honor" for Czas honoru, so most Polish series were never found. magnetowid now takes Sonarr's search by TVDB ID and finds the Polish title on Wikidata.
- New episodes and films: Sonarr's and Radarr's RSS sync now gets new TVP episodes of the series Sonarr has searched for, and new films Radarr has searched for, so they download without another search.
- Long soaps: M jak miłość, Klan, Barwy szczęścia and Na dobre i na złe are found by TVP's own episode numbers. Earlier versions mapped TVDB seasons onto TVP's blocks of 100 episodes, and could grab the wrong episode.
- Real quality in release names: a release's name gives the resolution and codecs of the stream magnetowid will download, so Sonarr/Radarr no longer grab a 720p stream as 1080p.
- Linux service: the deb, rpm and AUR packages install a hardened systemd service that runs as
magnetowidin themediagroup, like the Arch Sonarr and Radarr packages.
Upgrading from vodarr 0.2.0: nothing carries over. Stop and remove vodarr, rename your VODARR_* settings to MAGNETOWID_*, and install magnetowid. The Sonarr/Radarr connections stay as they are. magnetowid doesn't read .vodarr-jobs.db, so the queue, history and watch lists start empty: let running downloads finish first. Then restart Sonarr, so it starts searching TVP by TVDB ID.
Read the setup documentation or start with the Docker Compose guide.
