• Added useOverlayContainer and CometChatOverlayContainerContext so overlays you build outside the UI Kit — your own dialogs and modals — can portal into the same .cometchat container the UI Kit uses and stay within the app rather than covering the host page. Outside CometChatProvider, useOverlayContainer falls back to the document body.
• Added a hideReceipts prop to CometChatMessageInformation. The message preview now shows the read/delivery receipt, which was previously always hidden, and CometChatMessageList passes its own hideReceipts so one setting controls both.
• Added a container prop to CometChatConfirmDialog.Root to choose the element the dialog portals into; pass null to render it in place.
• Added the --cometchat-incoming-call-position CSS variable (default fixed) to control how the incoming-call toast is positioned.

Enhancements

• Updated overlays — the full-screen viewer, call screens, confirmation, flag and poll dialogs, action sheets, Message Information, the change-scope dialog and the composer's link dialog — to cover the .cometchat element rather than the browser window, so an embedded chat no longer spills over the surrounding page. The incoming-call toast stays viewport-anchored so a ringing call is never scrolled out of view; to keep it inside the app, set --cometchat-incoming-call-position: absolute on .cometchat.
• Updated the Conversations delete confirmation to dim only the conversation list rather than the whole app.
• Updated the composer's link dialog to open in its own .cometchat root rather than the first one on the page, so it appears in the right place when a page hosts more than one UI Kit instance.

Fixes

• Fixed voice notes failing to render inside an iframe, where the waveform threw and took the chat UI down with it, and fixed the waveform ignoring a custom primary colour and dark mode.
• Fixed mentions, text formatting and emoji insertion in the composer when the UI Kit renders inside an iframe.
• Fixed tooltips inside an iframe being clamped to the host page instead of the frame.
• Fixed the Pinned Messages option being hidden whenever search was turned off, and the Search entry appearing in the message header's overflow menu regardless of showSearchOption.
• Fixed Conversation summary appearing in the message header's overflow menu when showConversationSummaryButton was not set.
• Fixed hideKickMemberOption, hideBanMemberOption and hideScopeChangeOption being accepted but never applied on the group member row.
• Fixed the outgoing message sound never playing. It now plays once a sent message is acknowledged — text, media, voice notes, stickers, polls, collaborative documents and whiteboards, and once per multi-attachment send — and honours disableSoundForMessage and customSoundForMessage.
• Fixed hideReceipts on CometChatMessageList not hiding the receipt on message bubbles.
• Fixed the Conversations, Users, Groups and Group Members lists refetching unfiltered results after a reconnect mid-search, silently replacing the filtered list with the full one.
• Fixed CometChatAIAssistantChat showing no messages when it mounted before login had finished.
• Fixed the outgoing call screen overflowing its overlay at 600px and below, clipping the card.
• Fixed confirmation dialog button labels truncating instead of wrapping.
• Fixed missing spacing between the avatar and details in Message Information's receipt rows.

Breaking Changes

• .cometchat is now position: relative, UI Kit overlays use position: absolute instead of fixed, and CometChatConfirmDialog portals into .cometchat instead of document.body by default. Review any custom CSS that targets these overlays or relies on them covering the whole window.
