Comparative Agendas is an online research and analysis tool for for archived sources of policy data.

- Install PostgreSQL >= 9.4

- Install Docker
wget -qO- https://get.docker.com/ | sh
- Move to web root
mkdir /var/www
cd /var/www
- Clone this repo
git clone https://github.com/comparative/cap
- Move to app root
cd /var/www/cap
- Build Docker image
docker build -t cap:web .
- Edit environment variables (fill in your S3 credentials)
nano /var/www/cap/env.list
- Start PostgreSQL
service postgresql start
- Run Docker container (replace 0.0.0.0 with your IP address)
docker run --add-host=mypostgres:0.0.0.0 --env-file ./env.list --name="web" -d -p 80:80 -v /var/www/cap:/var/www/cap cap:web
- Enter Docker container
docker exec -it web bash
- Move to app root in Docker container
cd /var/www/cap
- Enter python shell
python
- Create database tables
>>> from app import db
>>> db.create_all()
- Exit python shell
>>> exit()
- Insert initial admin user
psql -U postgres -d cap -c "INSERT INTO \"user\" (email, password) VALUES ('admin','admin')"
For production you may need to run your own Highcharts Export Server.
These are the instructions:

... but you don't need to follow them because this repo contains a Docker image:
