MobilityData, a Montreal based nonprofit organization, stewards key transportation data standards – including the General Transit Feed Specification (GTFS) the de facto standard for representing transit passenger information. Executive Director Eric Plosky will speak about MobilityData’s role in the public transit ecosystem, his vision for the future, and our roles in facing the challenges before us.

This month join us for a special event to celebrate the one year anniversary of Torched's local reporting on how megaevents will shape LA's transportation policy. These events will potentially bring millions of more passengers to our local transit systems. Alissa Walker will join us to help moderate Q&A after our speaker presentation.

### About Eric Plosky

Eric Plosky leads MobilityData, the international nonprofit organization dedicated to “better transportation through data” by developing data standards, including the General Transit Feed Specification and the General Bikeshare Feed Specification, that enable access to safe, reliable, sustainable, empowering transportation options. Eric also teaches a Harvard course, "Transportation and Sustainability," and just taught a new course, "Transportation Data and Applications," at MIT, where he earned undergraduate and master's degrees in planning. He previously worked for nearly 24 years at the U.S. DOT Volpe Center, including 12 years as the chief of transportation planning.
