  • Settings show up in Obsidian's settings search (Obsidian 1.13+); older versions draw the same tab as before.
  • Timers use the window, so the plugin works in popout windows.

The words around a typo: z= now weighs how often your notes put each fix next to the word before and the word after (du mond blanc → mont). Measured on typos placed in real sentences: the right fix comes first 95.8% of the time (91.4% in 1.1.0), half the misses gone.

Instant startup: everything z= knows is compiled into model.bin (plugin folder), sorted tables and typed arrays searched in place. The plugin's own startup does no spelling work (~2 ms); the model loads when Obsidian is idle (about 1 ms to decode); only notes changed since the last session are read again; full rebuilds run in a background worker.

model.bin is a per-device cache: keep it out of sync tools.

Smarter z=:

  • Word lists: one file per language, with how common each word is (frequency lists like FrequencyWords' fr_50k.txt): common words first.
  • Languages: each paragraph's language is detected and its words ranked first; a note can set it with lang: en; the status bar shows it.
  • Learns: words of your notes rank higher, and the fix you take comes first next time.
  • Realistic typos: the key next door (QWERTY / AZERTY / QWERTZ, from the system) and doubled letters cost less; accents are free to find.

Measured on real typos from a vault's history: the right fix comes first 93% of the time (81% in 1.0.0). The 1.0 "Preferred word list" setting carries over.
