Overview
I would like to propose the inclusion of a Tailwind CSS icon in the Core UI library. This addition would expand Core UI’s relevance by supporting Tailwind CSS—a popular and growing utility-first CSS framework.
Rationale
- Increasing Adoption of Tailwind CSS:
Tailwind CSS has seen exponential growth among developers, especially for modern, responsive design systems. Including its icon in Core UI could cater to a significant user base. - Alignment with Core UI Goals:
Core UI aims to provide tools for building comprehensive, user-centric interfaces. Tailwind CSS simplifies complex CSS workflows, making it a natural complement to Core UI. - Consistency with Other Frameworks:
Core UI already supports various framework icons (e.g., Bootstrap, Angular, React, Sass). Adding Tailwind CSS ensures parity and continuity for developers who use multiple tools and frameworks. - Practical Use Cases:
Developers frequently use framework icons for documentation, tutorials, marketing, and showcasing project dependencies. A Tailwind CSS icon in Core UI allows for seamless branding and professional presentation.
Design
- Official Branding:
The Tailwind CSS brand assets are publicly available on their website and the Tailwind CSS logo should be represented as an icon adhering to its official branding guidelines. - Icons8 has an icon for Tailwind CSS.
Benefits
- Community Engagement:
Demonstrates Core UI’s support for the rapidly growing Tailwind CSS ecosystem, encouraging adoption of both. - Broader Appeal:
Reaching users in the Tailwind CSS community will enhance the visibility of Core UI, potentially increasing its user base. - Ease of Use:
Including the Tailwind CSS icon simplifies workflows for developers using Core UI, without needing to resort to another design kit / UI library. I definitely did not want to use both Core UI & Icons8 if Core UI alone is able to meet all of my needs.
Thank you for considering this request. I believe it will be a valuable enhancement to Core UI’s offerings.
