Hello,
This PR addresses issue #67, which highlighted an inconsistency in the codebase regarding the use of "variant" and "version" to refer to UUIDs. After reviewing the code and documentation, I have made changes to replace all instances of "variant" with "version" to reflect the correct terminology.
