NextUnit v4.0.1 is a patch release addressing test adapter execution issues during VSTest source runs, restoring the
Roslyn compiler compatibility baseline for analyzer/generator binaries, and updating dependencies. Previously correct
suite verdicts, public APIs, diagnostics, and test discovery IDs remain unchanged.
Changes
- VSTest Filter Honoring: Source-run
IRunContextfilters now properly apply to concrete expanded tests
(FullyQualifiedName,DisplayName,Category,Tag,SkipReason). - Targeted Row Selection: Selecting a specific
TestDatarow via canonical source IDs avoids running unrelated
sibling data providers on the same method. - Roslyn Compiler Compatibility Floor: Restored
Microsoft.CodeAnalysis.CSharpand
Microsoft.CodeAnalysis.CSharp.Workspacesassembly references for shipped generator and analyzer binaries to 5.6.0
(retaining build-timeMicrosoft.CodeAnalysis.Analyzersat 5.9). These are compiler assembly references used by
shipped generator/analyzer binaries, NOT runtime NuGet package dependencies exposed to consumers. This eliminates
CS9057 warnings and test discovery failures on Roslyn 5.6 compilers. - Dependency Updates: Updated
Microsoft.OpenApifrom 2.11.0 to 2.12.2.
Practical Caveats
- Prerequisites:
DependsOnhard prerequisites must be explicitly included in filtered executions; missing
prerequisites error before test bodies execute. - Provider Enumeration: Eager providers can still enumerate during discovery to determine row metadata; filters
are not an execution sandbox.
