@github-actions github-actions released this 31 Oct 01:29

What's new

  • Asking about a page in find: if you click away before the answer is ready, Valerie tells you when it is (a toast, and a notification when you're in another app or tab); clicking it brings the answer back. Setting: chats.find_answer_notification
  • Mini player: its back-to-tab button asks Valerie to switch to the video's tab
  • Site: the Agents demo is now Claude Code in a terminal on a desktop; when Linear needs a sign-in it calls ask_user and a little Valerie window pops up beside it, then the terminal carries on
  • Site: the sign-in demo's caption says a tool needs you to take action
  • Site: the sign-in demo on Agents spans the whole page width, with a wider chat so tool calls fit on one line
  • Site: the Agents page opens with the sign-in demo playing on its own (Claude Code opens a little window to authorize Linear, then fills today's list); the other demos move below under "More it can do"
  • Site: headline is now "The world's last browser"; the Agents tab gets a demo where the chat agent opens a little window for you to authorize Linear, then carries on

What's new

  • Agents know they can ask the user for anything only a person can do (make an account, sign in, pay, create an API key, decide): ask_user takes a url to open the page for them and choices for buttons in place of Done, and a timed-out wait says which tab to keep waiting on

What's new

  • Every agent learns the marketplace: the guide covers plugin vs extension, what reviewers accept, updates and installed copies; task agents are pointed to the guide; AGENTS.md describes the marketplace repo and index for agents working on Valerie
  • The marketplace takes browser extensions as well as plugins: Browse lists both (extensions marked), Yours lists your extensions too, and installing puts one in extensions/. Sharing works for either (valerie plugins share , the Share button, Valerie's own offer after an agent makes one), and
  • Right-click a tab for Move to Little Window, or press Cmd+Shift+O to pop the tab you're on into a little window (move_to_little_window { tab? }; Cmd+O brings it back)
  • Floating chat: the model, effort and access menus open again. They were placed relative to the card and clipped out of sight
  • A hard swipe on the sidebar no longer skips two spaces: after a switch, the same swipe speeding up again doesn't count as a new one for sidebar.swipe_settle_ms (default 600; 0 = old behaviour). Pausing or swiping back still switches at once
  • Demo site: a Real examples tab with a real chat (YouTube theater mode). The browser chat now knows to make a Valerie plugin instead of a browser extension, searches the marketplace first, and asks to share what it made (plugin_marketplace.offer_to_share)

@github-actions github-actions released this 30 Oct 16:36

What's new

  • Drop a tab on the middle of another to open them in split view (sidebar.drop_to_split, default true). Split-view pages now stay a group, shown as one row (or one wide pinned tile) that drags, pins and keeps as one and opens as a split again (sidebar.split_rows, default true); a space can hold seve
  • Double-clicking the title bar zooms or minimizes the window as System Settings says; a tab loading from scratch stays hidden until it has drawn (up to a second) and fades in instead of flashing white (pages.wait_for_first_draw, default true); right-clicking the title bar no longer drags the window

What's new

  • Resizing the window quickly no longer flickers: the bars and pages stretch with the window in the same frame instead of catching up a frame later

What's new

  • Reopening the window after its pages were put to sleep loads the page on screen first, then every other page that was open in the background, most recently used first, one at a time (app.reload_when_reopened, default true); time with the window closed no longer counts towards unloading or archivin

What's new

  • Closing the window (Valerie still running) puts every tab, chat and idle panel to sleep after app.unload_when_closed_minutes (default 5) so Valerie takes almost no memory; they reload when the window opens

What's new

  • Dark mode asks sites for their own dark look (prefers-color-scheme: the page view's appearance on macOS, WebView2's theme on Windows) instead of inverting them; inverting sites with no dark look is now pages.dark_fallback: invert (default none)

What's new

  • Chats: Settled folds into Closed (chats.auto_close_days replaces auto_settle_days), Closed sits on the bottom shelf with Snoozed and Working; the composer's menus are drawn in the chat's own style instead of the system popup
