Cursor is not opening/crashing after automatic update

Cursor has an auto-update and since then it is not opening. Tried reinstalling but same issue persists.

System Info:

• OS Windows 11
• Cursor version- 1.1.3

I'm now getting similar issues in linux. It opens the window, shows a "loading chat" which spins for a while and then
"The window is not responding
You can reopen or close the window or keep waiting"
There's a checkbox for "Don't restore editors" too.
I've tried all the choices but no matter what I do, it no longer opens. I've downloaded the latest appimage from the site and tried to open that as well.. no game. What do I do?

update. It seems like the newest version has a knack of breaking something in the configuration in .conf/Cursor.. I started deleting file after file in that folder and after deleting most cache files, blob files etc, I was able to start Cursor again but it had lost the entire project and chat history.. a major bummer since I was in the middle of a complicated "context" and had to start the discussion over again from scratch. But at least it works again now. Don't know if this helps any of the devs but it was the only fix that worked.

Having the same issue. Editor is stuck showing 'Loading chat' and can't open certain projects.
