@czmanix czmanix released this 26 Oct 21:33

First released version.

Install: run File2TV-1.0.0-setup.exe – it installs for your user only (no administrator rights), adds a Start menu entry and an uninstaller, and can set up the firewall rule. Or take the portable File2TV-1.0.0-win64.zip, unzip it anywhere and run File2TV\File2TV.exe. Windows 10/11, no Python needed. When Windows asks about the firewall, allow it for private networks – otherwise the TV can't download the video. The app adds Send to → File2TV to the Explorer right-click menu.

What it does: plays videos from the PC on a TV or Chromecast in your network without re-encoding the picture. Only when needed it repacks the file (audio the TV can't play, subtitles next to the video, Dolby Vision as MP4). Queue, audio and subtitle choice, 8 languages (follows Windows).

Tested on: LG OLED CX (DLNA, incl. Dolby Vision), older and newer Samsung (DLNA), TCL TVs, Nvidia Shield Pro and Google Nest Hub (Chromecast). Other TVs should work over DLNA or Google Cast (Google TV OS) – reports welcome.

Known limits: subtitles from Blu-ray/DVD (PGS) aren't shown over the network; Chromecast devices don't pass Dolby Vision; the app is not signed, so SmartScreen may warn, but the source code is all here.

Bundled: FFmpeg 9.0 (LGPL, licence in ffmpeg\LICENSE.txt).

První vydaná verze. Spusť instalátor File2TV-1.0.0-setup.exe (bez práv správce, s odinstalací), nebo rozbal přenosný zip kamkoli a spusť File2TV\File2TV.exe; na dotaz firewallu povol soukromou síť. Video jde do TV beze změny obrazu, jen když je potřeba, ffmpeg ho přebalí. Ověřeno na LG CX, Samsungu, TCL, Nvidia Shield a Nest Hubu.
