Ace Plays! v1.0.2

Choose a tag to compare

@d3bug21 d3bug21 released this 26 Oct 12:31

Ace Plays! v1.0.2 fixes tapping problems on phones and tablets.

What's fixed

  • Adventure Map: the world card no longer covers other worlds on small screens. Every world stays visible and tappable, and the card has ‹ › arrows to switch worlds.
  • Buttons that couldn't be tapped: the screen-transition bubbles no longer swallow taps (e.g. "Let's go!"), and the "Add to Home Screen" tip now stays on the title screen only.
  • Small-screen tidy-ups: Settings controls are no longer hidden under the Done button, long hints and locked-world notes aren't cut off, results stay scrolled to the top, and the new-blaster popup no longer covers the aiming circle.
  • Checked automatically on 15 phone screen sizes in iPhone Chrome, Android Chrome and the Facebook app browser: every button and world on every screen is tappable.

Ace Plays! v1.0.1 makes the game much nicer to play on phones and tablets.

What's new

  • Shoot and aim at the same time: hold the bubble button and slide your thumb to aim. Push past the edge to keep turning.
  • Tap 1-4 to switch blasters on touch screens.
  • Fits your screen even with the browser's address bar showing (iPhone and Android).
  • Tidier on-screen layout on small screens, so nothing overlaps and the Let's go! button is always visible.
  • Clearer swap button, and a one-time tip on iPhone for full-screen play via Add to Home Screen.

Testing status

The game was played through end-to-end in a browser and the Apple Silicon macOS app was launched and tested. The Windows and Linux packages were built and their contents checked, but haven't been run on real Windows/Linux machines yet — reports welcome!
