The universal macOS DMG has an ad-hoc signature only; it is not Developer ID signed or notarized. Gatekeeper may prevent opening a downloaded copy.
An unsigned iOS/iPadOS IPA is included as a build artifact for inspection. Physical devices still require Apple signing to install. A signed iOS IPA is included only when the repository has configured signing. An Ad Hoc (release-testing) IPA installs only on devices registered in its provisioning profile. An App Store (app-store-connect) IPA is for App Store Connect upload and cannot be directly installed.
