@github-actions github-actions released this 30 Oct 12:34

launch is blocked, allow it in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway; on
Windows, choose More info → Run anyway in the SmartScreen prompt.

New

  • The agent's review comments, inline: when you review someone else's PR, the agent adds its draft comments to the Review tab through Ariekei's own tools, instead of only listing them in its reply. Each draft is a card under the line it comments on, next to yours. You can edit it, delete it, or send it back to the agent with a message; Submit posts every draft that is left.
  • Replies in existing threads: the agent can also answer in a thread another reviewer started. Its reply shows at the thread's line, saying whose thread it is, and goes into that thread as part of your review.
  • Worktrees the agent makes itself: a worktree an agent makes on its own (a git worktree add, Claude Code's .claude/worktrees) is listed on its item, with its branch and what removing it would lose. Remove deletes it, together with the branch if the agent made that too; Make it a task turns it into a task. Cleaning up the item cleans these worktrees up too, unless that would lose work.
  • Tasks are named after their title: a new task's branch is the title's words (why-does-sync-stall), and its folder is <clone>_<branch>, also for a task on an existing branch.
  • Why Ariekei ended: the log names crash signals, panics (with a backtrace) and the reason for quitting. The next start reports a run that never exited cleanly.

Fixed

  • A window whose page crashed (or went over WebKit's memory limit) loads it again instead of staying grey; the agents keep running (Linux).
  • A new task no longer fails because a folder from an earlier task is still there.
  • Selecting several lines in the diff tints them instead of hiding the text.
  • Copying the worktree's path or code works on the first click.

New

  • Start working from Browse: a PR or issue that is not in the Inbox yet can be started straight from Browse (Ctrl+K), or with Enter. A quiet Add stays for PRs you only want to review.
  • Reviewed PRs pull their fixes: on a PR you reviewed, what the author pushes afterwards is pulled into its worktree after each poll, unless that would lose work or the agent is in the middle of a turn.
  • Continue on another branch: when an agent moves a PR, issue or task to a new branch, Continue on <branch> makes that branch the item's, and Ariekei sends the agent work again.
  • A worktree off its branch: Switch back, Move <branch> here and Update <branch> to GitHub's PR head. Its terminal still takes input.
  • Tasks: a PR or issue a task's agent opens is an item of its own, and it is told how it came about.
  • Items open at once: they show what was loaded last and update in the background, on the tab they were left on.
  • Comments: the latest replies come first and new ones are marked.

Changed

  • A rebase made locally (e.g. by the agent) no longer brings the Update bar; only commits on GitHub that the branch never had do.
  • An idle agent is closed after 45 minutes instead of 15.
  • A finished item you have open asks before it is cleaned up.
  • Only one Ariekei runs per data directory.

Fixed

  • Agents:
    • A runaway agent no longer takes Ariekei and the other agents down.
    • Drafts are sent only once the agent took them.
    • An agent that exits says so and starts again from there.
    • Its status no longer gets stuck after answered or interrupted prompts.
    • A conversation saved without hooks is resumed.
    • Hooks follow /clear.
  • Review:
    • Line comments are posted against the commit they were made on, and follow GitHub's renames.
    • CRLF line endings are kept, and files that are not UTF-8 cannot be saved.
    • Save refuses to overwrite a file that changed on disk.
    • The base is fetched at most every 10 minutes.
    • The horizontal scrollbar stays at the bottom of the diff.
  • Cleanup:
    • Commits are never lost, and one bad worktree no longer stalls the rest.
    • The old version of a rebased PR no longer counts as unpushed work.
  • GitHub:
    • Repos renamed or moved to another owner are followed, together with their clone's remote.
    • Ariekei notices when gh is logged in as someone else.
    • Every page of the poll's searches is read.
    • Items GitHub no longer knows are finished.
    • A fresh PR's checks are followed by GitHub's clock.
    • "Ready to merge" is shown only for a PR that is approved.
  • Windows: one agent per item, and no console windows for git and gh.
  • Misc:
    • Starting work on a PR whose fork was deleted works.
    • New work starts from GitHub's current default branch.
