New Features

Drag & Drop Support

Open files by dragging them directly into the Spawn window.

Note: To tell the program where to find SAMPCTL or Git, simply drag the corresponding file into the program window.

Multi-File Opening

The Open File dialog now supports selecting and opening multiple files simultaneously.

Pawn Encoding Directives

Support for encoding directives in Pawn source files:

// -*- coding: cp1251 -*-

Spawn automatically detects and uses the specified encoding when opening and saving Pawn source files.

Default Pawn Encoding

Added a configurable default encoding for newly created and newly saved Pawn source files.

Supported encodings include:

  • UTF-8
  • Windows-1250 (Central European)
  • Windows-1251 (Cyrillic)
  • Windows-1252 (Western European)
  • Windows-1253 (Greek)
  • Windows-1254 (Turkish)

Distribution

Security Notice

Spawn is distributed as a standalone executable built with Nuitka.

Because the application is currently unsigned and has not yet established reputation with antivirus vendors, some security software may incorrectly flag the executable as suspicious.

The source code is fully available in this repository and all official builds are published exclusively through GitHub Releases.

If your antivirus reports a detection, please verify that you downloaded Spawn from the official GitHub repository and consider reporting a false positive to your antivirus vendor.
