Valid only for on.keyPress but not for keyDown/Up which however doesn't respond with a correct charCode and keyLocation.

alexander.orlov: Which browser / os are you seeing this on? Can you intercept in JS? I'm not ESC gets to the browser in the first place.

possibly this is IE?
I was able to get ESC using keyUp, and checking for keyCode == 27. This worked on all browsers I tested (IE9, and current version of FF/Opera/Chrome/Safari)
