📝 Release Notes

This release adds several new networking features, with important bug fixes and performance optimizations across the board.

Networking

  • Added support for "redirect" transparent proxy on Linux.
  • Added SOCK_STREAM and SOCK_SEQPACKET Unix domain socket support for servers.
  • Added the new PMTUD option for better control over IP fragmentation behavior. The old "allowFragmentation" option is now deprecated and will be removed in the next release.
  • Added the "overrideResolverDialAddress" option to specify alternate DNS servers.
  • Extended pktinfo (sticky socket) support to all BSDs.
  • Extended TCP transparent proxy support to macOS, FreeBSD, OpenBSD.
  • Fixed startup failures with UDP servers on platforms that report an error when the requested socket buffer size exceeds the sysctl maximum.

DNS

  • Implemented cache eviction, negative caching and serve-stale.
  • Fixed an issue where unanswered TCP queries were never retried.

Router

  • Switched prefix set implementation from go4.org/netipx to github.com/gaissmai/bart for better performance.

Shadowsocks 2022

  • Optimized TCP replay protection for better scaling behavior.

Domain Set Converter

  • Added the -skipRegexp flag to skip regular expression rules during conversion.

General

  • Release assets and tags are now immutable.
  • Release tarballs now employ GitHub's artifact attestations.
  • Linux release tarballs formerly named archlinux are now named linux-glibc.
  • Upgraded to Go 1.27.
