CHANGES v7.1.0

  • iOS 16 Support: Older devices that cannot upgrade to iOS 17 (iPhone 8 / 8 Plus / X) can now complete the FaceVerify flow. Previously these devices failed with a detection error during the session; the SDK now automatically falls back to a degraded mode that runs face detection on the main thread. Camera preview is slightly less smooth in this mode but the flow completes successfully. See Supported browsers and devices for the full support matrix.
  • New Error Code device_error:7001 (DEVICE_UNSUPPORTED): Surfaced through onError before the detection loop starts when the device cannot run face detection at all (no WebGL2 in worker or main thread). Integrators should map this to a clear "device not supported" message rather than offering a retry — see Error Codes.
  • Clarified detect_error:8001 (DETECT_TRANSIENT): Now reserved for genuinely mid-session detection failures. Capability gaps surface earlier as DEVICE_UNSUPPORTED.
