First stable release of DataFog MCP: check local files for personal data and credentials, and write cleaned copies without returning file contents or matched values to the agent.

  • Scan UTF-8 text, CSV, and TSV files up to 10 MB.
  • Redact, mask, or remove findings in a separate copy, preserving the original.
  • Configure allowed roots, copy destinations, exact allowlists, and scanning scope.
  • Select detector types; phone numbers, dates, ZIP codes, and IP addresses are opt-in.
  • Use Core 0.4.4, with fewer phone and credit-card false positives.

Install (Python 3.10+):

Setup and supported formats · PyPI

Detection is advisory and pattern-based. Names and street addresses are not detected; a clean scan is not proof that a file contains no sensitive data. Tested with Claude Code; Windows is untested.

Release verification passed on Python 3.10–3.12, followed by a fresh PyPI install and scan/redact smoke test.
