Release list
Cascade 2.1.0
- ~2.8× faster physics (warm-started solver, sorted grid) on a worker thread; all beads drawn in one call
- Realistic shaking: fused gravity/linear sensors, vertical jolts make beads hop, gyroscope twist swirls the pile
- Richer haptics: hit strength levels, thud/click for hard hits, rattle texture while beads tumble
- Stereo, denser glass sounds; Fresnel rims and tilt-following highlights
- New settings: size, gravity, shake, twist, bounciness, friction, quality, volume, haptic strength, trails, refresh rate, keep screen on, FPS, reset; 8 colours; up to 2,000 beads
Cascade 2.0.0
Cascade 2.0.0 brings a shared glass-bead simulation to Wear OS and Android phones.
- Impulse collisions, varied masses, friction, rolling, sleeping and shake inertia.
- Baked glass highlights, rotating internal swirls and motion-dependent brightness.
- 250–450 watch beads via crown; 600–1,200 phone beads, multitouch and four colour themes.
- Impact-only haptics with a cooldown and energy budget; synthesized glass sounds and separate saved toggles.
- English README with installation instructions with and without a computer.
Download the phone APK for Android 11+ or the wear APK for Wear OS 3+. Both use dev.cascade, version 2.0.0 (2), and local debug-key release signing.
The offline release build passed. No emulator or physical-device testing was performed. A preliminary headless check identified residual pile motion; solver iterations and sleeping were adjusted afterward, without rerunning that check at the owner's request. Please evaluate pile settling, haptic thresholds, maximum bead count and overall physics feel on hardware.
