v0.12.0

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 29 Oct 10:53
a1c432b

Minor Changes

  • #129 1cfbbfe - New Window in the right-click menu opens another Handset window, for example an Android phone in one and an iPhone or iPad in the other. The new window starts on the connect screen and leaves the phone the first window shows alone.

Windows: Handset-0.12.0-windows.zip is not code-signed yet. SmartScreen warns on first run (More info, Run anyway), and a PC with Smart App Control on blocks unsigned apps entirely. Install adb (and ffmpeg for recording) and put them on PATH, or next to handset.exe.

Linux (experimental): Handset-0.12.0-linux-x86_64.tar.gz and -linux-aarch64.tar.gz need glibc 2.35 or newer (Ubuntu 22.04, Debian 12 and newer) and ALSA. Unpack, put handset on PATH, and install adb (and ffmpeg for recording). Not code-signed; SHA256SUMS-linux and its signature cover them.

v0.11.5

@github-actions github-actions released this 29 Oct 10:00
117eb2f

Patch Changes

  • #126 f29632c - An iPad now opens in the iPad frame even if you have picked an iPhone frame before. It keeps its own frame choice, separate from the iPhone's.

Windows: Handset-0.11.5-windows.zip is not code-signed yet. SmartScreen warns on first run (More info, Run anyway), and a PC with Smart App Control on blocks unsigned apps entirely. Install adb (and ffmpeg for recording) and put them on PATH, or next to handset.exe.

Linux (experimental): Handset-0.11.5-linux-x86_64.tar.gz and -linux-aarch64.tar.gz need glibc 2.35 or newer (Ubuntu 22.04, Debian 12 and newer) and ALSA. Unpack, put handset on PATH, and install adb (and ffmpeg for recording). Not code-signed; SHA256SUMS-linux and its signature cover them.

Patch Changes

  • #123 2e0ae10 - An iPad now opens in an iPad-shaped frame instead of the iPhone one, so its picture fills the screen.

Windows: Handset-0.11.4-windows.zip is not code-signed yet. SmartScreen warns on first run (More info, Run anyway), and a PC with Smart App Control on blocks unsigned apps entirely. Install adb (and ffmpeg for recording) and put them on PATH, or next to handset.exe.

Linux (experimental): Handset-0.11.4-linux-x86_64.tar.gz and -linux-aarch64.tar.gz need glibc 2.35 or newer (Ubuntu 22.04, Debian 12 and newer) and ALSA. Unpack, put handset on PATH, and install adb (and ffmpeg for recording). Not code-signed; SHA256SUMS-linux and its signature cover them.

@github-actions github-actions released this 28 Oct 20:21
e65ad31

Patch Changes

  • #120 2d3e550 - Recording no longer hangs on a phone that cannot send audio (Android 10 and older). Handset checks when it connects and records video only.

Windows: Handset-0.11.3-windows.zip is not code-signed yet. SmartScreen warns on first run (More info, Run anyway), and a PC with Smart App Control on blocks unsigned apps entirely. Install adb (and ffmpeg for recording) and put them on PATH, or next to handset.exe.

Linux (experimental): Handset-0.11.3-linux-x86_64.tar.gz and -linux-aarch64.tar.gz need glibc 2.35 or newer (Ubuntu 22.04, Debian 12 and newer) and ALSA. Unpack, put handset on PATH, and install adb (and ffmpeg for recording). Not code-signed; SHA256SUMS-linux and its signature cover them.

v0.11.2

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 28 Oct 19:09
59f88bb

Patch Changes

  • #117 2698f0c - Fixed the window opening too small and not resizing by dragging a corner on Linux under Wayland. With fractional scaling the window now opens at the intended size, and dragging a corner of the phone resizes it in place, keeping its proportions.

Windows: Handset-0.11.2-windows.zip is not code-signed yet. SmartScreen warns on first run (More info, Run anyway), and a PC with Smart App Control on blocks unsigned apps entirely. Install adb (and ffmpeg for recording) and put them on PATH, or next to handset.exe.

Linux (experimental): Handset-0.11.2-linux-x86_64.tar.gz and -linux-aarch64.tar.gz need glibc 2.35 or newer (Ubuntu 22.04, Debian 12 and newer) and ALSA. Unpack, put handset on PATH, and install adb (and ffmpeg for recording). Not code-signed; SHA256SUMS-linux and its signature cover them.

v0.11.1

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 28 Oct 16:51
f2b339e

Patch Changes

  • #113 f801b6a - Fixed Mirror iPhone doing nothing in the macOS download. The signed app now carries the camera and microphone entitlements macOS needs, and an iPhone that cannot be mirrored keeps its error on the connect screen instead of going back to "Looking for a phone...".

Windows: Handset-0.11.1-windows.zip is not code-signed yet. SmartScreen warns on first run (More info, Run anyway), and a PC with Smart App Control on blocks unsigned apps entirely. Install adb (and ffmpeg for recording) and put them on PATH, or next to handset.exe.

Linux (experimental): Handset-0.11.1-linux-x86_64.tar.gz and -linux-aarch64.tar.gz need glibc 2.35 or newer (Ubuntu 22.04, Debian 12 and newer) and ALSA. Unpack, put handset on PATH, and install adb (and ffmpeg for recording). Not code-signed; SHA256SUMS-linux and its signature cover them.

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 28 Oct 11:36
a7b8e25

Minor Changes

  • #110 7b1d078 - Added Tilt. The right-click Tilt menu (or --tilt yaw,pitch,roll) turns the phone in 3D with perspective while you mirror, and touch still lands where you point. The editor has Turn, Lean and Roll sliders for saved screenshots; recordings stay flat for now.

Windows: Handset-0.11.0-windows.zip is not code-signed yet. SmartScreen warns on first run (More info, Run anyway), and a PC with Smart App Control on blocks unsigned apps entirely. Install adb (and ffmpeg for recording) and put them on PATH, or next to handset.exe.

Linux (experimental): Handset-0.11.0-linux-x86_64.tar.gz and -linux-aarch64.tar.gz need glibc 2.35 or newer (Ubuntu 22.04, Debian 12 and newer) and ALSA. Unpack, put handset on PATH, and install adb (and ffmpeg for recording). Not code-signed; SHA256SUMS-linux and its signature cover them.

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 28 Oct 09:16
1e311d7

Minor Changes

  • #107 c115b6f - Added "Turn On Audio" to the right-click menu for Android phones. It restarts the session with sound and remembers the choice, so audio no longer needs the --audio flag on Windows and Linux.

Windows: Handset-0.10.0-windows.zip is not code-signed yet. SmartScreen warns on first run (More info, Run anyway), and a PC with Smart App Control on blocks unsigned apps entirely. Install adb (and ffmpeg for recording) and put them on PATH, or next to handset.exe.

Linux (experimental): Handset-0.10.0-linux-x86_64.tar.gz and -linux-aarch64.tar.gz need glibc 2.35 or newer (Ubuntu 22.04, Debian 12 and newer) and ALSA. Unpack, put handset on PATH, and install adb (and ffmpeg for recording). Not code-signed; SHA256SUMS-linux and its signature cover them.

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 28 Oct 06:43
14a6d34

Patch Changes

  • #105 588c3e2 - Fixed a crash when taking a screenshot on some Linux graphics drivers, which listed a 16-bit surface format first.

  • #103 6a3cafb - On Linux, handset --doctor now checks for a graphics adapter and an audio output device, and says what to install when one is missing. Its "no phone connected" advice also mentions USB access rules.

  • #101 19740c9 - On Linux, Handset now finds ffmpeg and adb installed with Nix, Snap or Homebrew even when it is started from a launcher with a bare PATH.

  • #102 776d271 - On Linux, "Reveal" now selects the capture in your file manager instead of only opening its folder.

Windows: Handset-0.9.3-windows.zip is not code-signed yet. SmartScreen warns on first run (More info, Run anyway), and a PC with Smart App Control on blocks unsigned apps entirely. Install adb (and ffmpeg for recording) and put them on PATH, or next to handset.exe.

Linux (experimental): Handset-0.9.3-linux-x86_64.tar.gz and -linux-aarch64.tar.gz need glibc 2.35 or newer (Ubuntu 22.04, Debian 12 and newer) and ALSA. Unpack, put handset on PATH, and install adb (and ffmpeg for recording). Not code-signed; SHA256SUMS-linux and its signature cover them.

Windows: Handset-0.9.2-windows.zip is not code-signed yet. SmartScreen warns on first run (More info, Run anyway), and a PC with Smart App Control on blocks unsigned apps entirely. Install adb (and ffmpeg for recording) and put them on PATH, or next to handset.exe.
