QuickServe v1.2.0: Instant HMR & Self-Healing HTTPS
What's New in v1.2.0
This release brings a significant quality-of-life upgrade with improved UX, smarter reload behavior, zero-config HTTPS, and better mobile support.
Added
- Open with QuickServe — right-click any
.htmlor.mdfile to open it instantly in the browser without navigating manually - Status bar controls — start and stop the server directly from the status bar
- Zero-config HTTPS — HTTPS works out of the box with self-healing support; broken SSL configurations are automatically recovered without any manual intervention
- Deep dependency graph — smarter change detection through thorough mapping of file relationships
- HMR (Hot Module Replacement) — pushes only changed modules to the browser instantly, keeping app state intact without a full page reload
- QR code for mobile — scan from the output panel to instantly open the server on any mobile device on the same network
- Smart reload strategy — decides the most efficient reload approach, avoiding unnecessary full reloads when a partial update is enough
Fixed
- Stability — resolved intermittent crashes and unexpected shutdowns during long-running sessions
- File processing — fixed incorrect handling of certain file types that caused them to be served malformed or skipped
- Script injection — corrected script injection into served pages, preventing conflicts and broken behavior in some setups
- Filepath resolving — fixed edge cases where paths with special characters, spaces, or unusual structures failed to resolve
