Hi all,

I built dsh-desktop-linux, a community Linux desktop shell for the harness Web GUI. Double-click the app icon and a native window opens on a bundled backend — no Node install, no terminal, no port to pick. This is the Linux counterpart to the official desktop app, which ships Windows and macOS only.

What it adds beyond launching the Web GUI in a window:

• Self-contained payload. A SHA256-verified Node 22 LTS runtime, the hoisted pnpm closure, the dsh CLI, and the frontend dist all travel inside Resources/dsh. Electron's embedded Node is deliberately unused, because the runtime closure ships native addons for standard Node ABIs.
• In-app Update Center. The repo publishes no backend installers, so the app tracks the upstream master commit and offers a prompted rebuild instead of a version number. Downloads and the check run on Chromium's network stack, so they follow the system proxy; the same proxy is resolved per endpoint and handed to the pnpm, npm, and git subprocesses an update spawns, which otherwise read only the environment and go direct under a GUI launch.
• npm mirror selection that probes candidates and settles on one that answers before installing — useful on networks where the default registry is slow.
• Launcher fallback. On hosts whose AppArmor profile or kernel settings block unprivileged user namespaces, the wrapper retries with --no-sandbox --disable-gpu instead of aborting at startup.

Caveats, so nobody is surprised: Linux x64 only, packages are unsigned, this is 0.2.0-rc.2-tracking preview quality tracking upstream 0.2.0-rc.2, and only the bundled backend updates itself — the Electron shell is replaced by installing a newer release.

除了「把 Web GUI 装进窗口」，还做了这些：

• 自包含后端：SHA256 校验过的 Node 22 LTS 运行时、pnpm 扁平依赖闭包、dsh CLI、前端 dist 全部随包分发。故意不用 Electron 内置的 Node——依赖闭包里的原生插件是按标准 Node ABI 编译的。
• 内置更新中心：本仓库不发布后端安装包，所以客户端跟踪上游 master 提交并用「提示后重建」代替版本号比较。下载与检查走 Chromium 网络栈，因此跟随系统代理；同一代理会逐端点解析后交给更新时启动的 pnpm / npm / git 子进程——这些进程默认只读环境变量，在 GUI 启动下是空的，会直连从而超时。
• npm 镜像选择：安装前探测候选镜像并用能通的那个，默认源慢的网络下很有用。
• 启动兜底：在 AppArmor 或内核限制非特权 user namespace 的机器上，启动器改用 --no-sandbox --disable-gpu 重试，而不是直接启动崩溃。

先说清楚：仅 Linux x64、安装包未签名、属于 0.2.0-rc.2 的预览质量（已跟进上游 0.2.0-rc.2），且只有内置后端会自动更新——Electron 外壳需要装新版本替换。
