If you're on 0.1.0, please upgrade. PDF export is broken in 0.1.0 and works again in this release.

What's new

  • File, View and Help menus replace the top-bar buttons, with keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl+N/O/S, Ctrl+Shift+S, and zoom).
  • Save and Save As are now separate. Save writes to the current file without asking where.
  • New start screen with New Mosaic, Open and Import Image buttons.
  • Written pattern panel is now a resizable side panel, and the Copy button is always visible.
  • Zoom controls reworked: zoom buttons and presets in the status bar, and Ctrl+scroll zooming.
  • New app icon and an updated look.
  • New mosaics now default to 20×20.
  • Flatpak added to the release downloads.
  • The README now has a user guide.

Fixes

  • PDF export works again (it was broken in 0.1.0).

Downloads

Platform Files
Linux .flatpak, .deb, .rpm, AppImage
Windows .msi or -setup.exe (not code-signed; if SmartScreen warns, choose More info, then Run anyway)

@deiussum deiussum released this 19 Sep 23:22

Initial release of Tesserow, a mosaic crochet pattern generator, migrated from an Electron app onto Tauri.

Downloads

  • .deb (Debian/Ubuntu): Tesserow_0.1.0_amd64.deb
  • .rpm (Fedora/RHEL): Tesserow-0.1.0-1.x86_64.rpm
  • .AppImage (portable, most distros): Tesserow_0.1.0_amd64.AppImage
  • .msi (Windows): Windows installer file
  • .exe (Windows): Windows setup file

Windows and macOS builds have not been tested yet and are not included in this release.

Notes

  • This is marked as a pre-release: it's a 0.x version and UI work is still planned before a 1.0.
  • Uses Tauri's default placeholder app icon for now; a custom icon is planned for a later release.
  • If the AppImage shows a blank white window with a "Failed to create GBM buffer" error (seen on some NVIDIA setups), update to this version or later — that's fixed here.
