LangSync 1.6.0

LangSync keeps the keyboard layout identical on the Mac you sit at and the Mac you control with macOS Screen Sharing — and lets dictation (Superwhisper and similar) and clipboard images land on the remote Mac.

Download: LangSync.dmg below (universal, macOS 13+, signed with a Developer ID and notarized by Apple). Install it on every Mac; see the README or the website for setup.

Highlights

• Layout sync in both directions while you work in a Screen Sharing window; ⌘Space switches instantly without losing the next keystroke.
• Dictation tools that write the clipboard and press ⌘V now paste on the remote Mac (with a real ⌘V there); ordinary ⌘V is untouched.
• Clipboard images follow you into the Screen Sharing window.
• Several Macs: one Mac can control several and be controlled at the same time; LangSync follows the focused Screen Sharing window, chains included.
• Security (new in 1.6): ChaCha20-Poly1305 with per-direction keys from a 256-bit shared key that never crosses the network; per-connection challenges, pinned Mac identities, replay protection, padding, local-network-only listeners.

Upgrading from 1.5 or earlier

The protocol changed and old keys (which travelled in clear text) are refused: update LangSync on every Mac, then copy the new key from one Mac to the others (menu → Скопіювати ключ / Вставити ключ із буфера). The key fingerprint in the menu must match on all Macs.
