OpenHome 1.0.0
The first release.
A replacement home screen for rooted LG webOS TVs that also puts 100+ of the TV's own
settings into one place - the ones LG's menu buries, and a few it never draws at all. LG shows
36 of the 838 settings the firmware actually keeps.
What it does
- TV settings, thirteen tabs: the screen saver LG gives no on/off switch for, Live Plus,
HDMI Deep Colour, 4:4:4 pass-through per port, the "Sponsored" tiles, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and the
rest. The controls are generated from what each key actually accepts on your model, so nothing
goes stale after a firmware update. - System panel: network latency and traffic, CPU with panel temperature, RAM, storage, and
whether the root setup is still intact. - Clock, date and weather from Open-Meteo, with no key and no account.
- Input shortcuts that list only the ports with something plugged in, and show whether the
device is awake, read over HDMI-CEC. - Photo wallpapers pooled on a USB disk - about 36 MB an hour against 2.7 GB for streamed
video, and they work with the internet down. - English and Serbian, switchable, with the TV settings carrying LG's own wording in both.
- It can replace the stock home screen, including on a cold boot - which needs more than the
Default App setting, becausebootdignores that.
A fork of OpenLauncher by Shantil-K, itself based on
QwQHome by exkc. It has its own package id, so it installs beside OpenLauncher rather than over
it.
Installing
Download the .ipk, put it on a USB stick, and on the TV use Homebrew Channel → App Manager →
Install from file. The readme covers the
whole setup, including rooting.
